CHAPTER ONE.
“Divorce?” Imani was shocked. Her hands were trembling as she stared down at the divorce paper with her.
Luke rolled his eyes, “Yes. I'm divorcing you! I hate your face! Everything about you!” He added and Imani bat back her tears.
“Is this your own way of sorting things out after you cheated? You are having an affair with another woman and you bring this?” Imani snapped, her shaky voice getting the best of her.
“What did you think? Apologize to you? Hell no! You are barren! You never gave birth! Losing your pregnancy every day!” Luke blurts out, Imani tears streamed out.
“How dare you call me barren?! Your family made work endlessly and the stress made me lose my baby, twice! Your family did all of that! I clean, wash, run all sorts of errands for your family all the time! What-what? Barren? That's all you've got?!” Imani yelled.
“I-I lived like a slave in your home.” She muttered under her breathe, her strength getting weaker.
Luke rolled his eyes, “You're just lazy brat. Lazy! That's what you are, Be thankful I married you out of pity!” Luke said and Imani let out a smirk.
“I thought you are a little more sensible than the rest of your family. I married you because I loved you, I loved you but you just proved to me why I should have listened to my father years back,” Imani told him.
She grabbed the pen and wrote her signature on it, Imani dropped the paper on the floor and walked out of his study room.
The first person she saw on her way out was Luke's mother, Elizabeth, “Why haven't you prepared the dinner?” She snapped but Imani rolled her eyes and wanted to walk pass her but Elizabeth pull her back.
“Im talking to you, you brat!” she yelled
Imani breathed out, her patience running out “Ask your son to get a maid! I'm not your maid!” Imani yelled back, leaving her standing.
“Did you just talk to mother like that? How dare you! You mutt!” Racheal, Luke's younger sister yelled, wanting to slap Imani but Imani held her hand.
“I'm done with your stupid attitude! Get out of my way or you face the consequences,” Imani screamed at her but Rachel thought she was joking.
“Do your worse you barre-” Imani didn't wait for Rachel to finish when she landed a slap on her face.
Everyone gasped, including Luke. “Are you insane! Did you realize what you just did?” Luke fired at her.
“Yes, I know. I'm no longer part of your family, am I? I will leave tonight and I hope no body passes my boundaries or you take a hit just like have done to Rachel,” Imani warned
“This is only time to redeem yourself Imani. Once you step a foot out of our home, you will never be welcomed here,” Lia mumbled at where she sat. “Tsk, we are the only one who can tolerate you,” She added, a mockery tone in her words
Imani looked at her, “I'm never coming into this miserable house again. Enjoy the rest of your miserable life,” With that Imani dashed into her room.
The rest of them in the room laughed, “Where does she want to go? No- where!” They all concluded.
Imani grabbed her phone immediately she walked into her room, “Father, I want to come home.” She ended the call and pulled out her bags, went out of the building and busting into the street. She
waved at the cab coming towards her and
she got in.
For the night she stayed at an hotel and waited to hear from her father.
NEXT MORNING
“Good morning ms. Shawn! Mr Shawn told us to escort you back home,” 8 men greeted her at her door step the following morning. She dressed up, went to the rooftop of the hotel, two different helicopter was waiting there for her.
10 more dressed men was waiting for her as well, “Good morning ms.” They greeted in unison.
Imani acknowledged the greeting and entered the helicopter, soon they flew back home. As she looked down at the city that failed her, she kept one thing in mind. Revenge.
She will make sure she takes a proper revenge on Luke and his family and that's not a joke.
Looking down at her tummy, “This child will never be yours Luke. You're dead to him now,”
