DAMON'S POV
"There's no need to be scared, you can sit." I said calmly.
Elisa hesitated for a while before finally taking her seat.
"So care to enlighten me what a married woman is doing on a blind date?" I asked nonchalantly as I poured water into her cup.
Elisa shifted uncomfortably for a bit before sighing and grabbing the cup with her two hands.
How cute, I thought to myself seeing her reaction.
I already knew what happened, her mother had narrated everything to me, and maybe because I might have made what happened to actually happen.
Derrick is a man that will limit her potential, I knew it from the first day I saw him.
I was heading to confess my love to Elisa when I found her in the arms of another man, I was pissed, very pissed.
In the end, we had a big fight that made us to cut off contact with each other, actually she cut off contact with me.
"First of all, I'm not here on by my own will I was tricked, also Derrick cheated and we are getting a divorce so I am not exactly a married woman anymore."
I hummed in response and then silence reigned between us, the waiter came to take our order before heading out almost immediately.
I furrowed my brows at the waiters action slightly dissatisfied, everyone has always been scared of me for some reason, it was annoying.
Glancing at Elisa who was frowning at her phone made my heart beat faster than usual, she is the first.
The first woman to treat me like every other human being.
Even my own mother is scared of me, but Elisa? She's never failed to embrace me.
That's why I must try as hard as possible to hide my darkest secrets from her, no matter what it takes.
"Damon? Why are you going on a blind dates? You're attractive enough to have many women swarm around you, so why bother with a blind date?" Elisa questioned after dropping her phone making me tilt my head, staring at her intently.
Under my intense gaze, she flushed red, averting her eyes, "I'm sorry for how I reacted that day." She muttered, oh, she's probably embarrassed.
I hummed tapping my fingers on the table slowly, before deciding to speak.
"My mom forced me as well." I stated simply even if it was a balant lie, I had called Elisa's mom after the woman I hired told me the job is done.
I explained to her "my predicament" of not being able to find a wife when I'm already pushing 30, at that time Elisa was not back home so she was not that enthusiastic to help me out.
After all, compared to other men in the city, The Gilbert family thought of me as the best suited for their family.
By the time Elisa returned, she called me with so much excitement telling me she would arrange a date.
"I know you Damon, you won't come just because your mom forced you." Elisa chuckled, making me stunned, I smiled a bit raising the wine glass to cover my face.
"Well, my grandfather left some inheritance for me, I can't have them till I'm married, you know how women are around me, so that's why I came." I explained.
My carefully fabricated story with a sad face making Elisa frown a bit before glancing at her phone.
"We are friends right?" She asked inching closer towards me over the table.
"Of course." I responded in a dry tone, I didn't want to show my excitement.
"Well, I'm in a similar predicament, my dad is saying he won't let me become the CEO unless I get married." She revealed making my eye twitch.
Maybe I had a role in that too.
For someone who had just gotten out of a failed marriage, I doubted that Elisa would be eager to remarry so I just placed precautionary pieces, who knew they would come in handy.
"Oh." I mouthed faking disbelief, making her nod repeatedly.
"Unfair right? The old man is acting up just because I gave a light punishment to that Derrick guy." She hissed angrily.
My grip on my cup tightened the moment I heard those words, does it mean she is still in love with that-
"How about we get married instead? That way you get your inheritance and I get the CEO position." Elisa proposed.
A frown settled on my face as I pretended to think about it.
"Don't you think it's dangerous, proposing marriage to anyone." I questioned, looking displeased.
So if it wasn't me with her on the blind date would she have proposed to another man like this as well?
"You're not anyone, we've known each other for long now." She argued, pouting her lips.
She looked so cute, I couldn't bare to fight against her anymore.
"Fine." I agreed, looking reluctant.
"Really?" She shot up from her seat excitedly, her hands slamming on the table.
"Really." I confirmed, a soft smile on my face.
She is a diamond, one that has been hidden for too long in the mud, now it was my time to take her, clean her up and make her shine.
"Let's go tell my parents then." She stood up coming over to my side to pull me by arm.
I stood up, towering over her, before patting her hair lightly.
"Careful, there's no need to rush things, besides there's still your divorce to settle." I explained calmly, in reality, If I could, I would most definitely drag her to the courthouse today and marry her instantly.
But she is a queen, and she deserves go be treated like one, so the grandest of wedding must be granted to her.
"My lawyer went to drop the papers today, let's just go." She dragged me out of the room.
Well I let her drag me, because no way a 5'9 foot tall woman, weighing 165 Ibls woman is dragging a 208.1 Ibls man.
"What's wrong?" I asked noticing the way she stopped abruptly.
Following her gaze, I saw her staring at Derrick that had his hand wrapped around that woman.
My heart beat accelerated, what if the woman speaks up and Elisa catches on?
"What are you doing here?" Derrick asked Elisa making me raise my brows, what audacity does he even have to ask that.
