Azlynn’s P.O.V.
“Valerie is my fated mate!”
The volcano of revelations rumbled, burning me with its molten lava, my heart was pierced with a thousand fiery needles at once. Staring at Xavion in a catatonic stupor, I let my tears stream down my cheeks, losing my composure. His blunt response hadn’t left any room for discussion.
Seven days!
Xavion hid the news of his fated mate for seven days, looking for an excuse to rub his disloyalty on my face. He was such a mean planner.
His commanding Alpha tone failed to affect me as he ordered me firmly.
“Who is that man?
Tell me the name of that bastard you are fucking behind my back, omega.”
A sudden surge of fire in my chest converted my pain into fury, making me look straight into his dark eyes fearlessly. I jerked his hand away.
“His name is none of your fucking business!”
My harsh tone raised an octave, creasing Xavion’s forehead, but I couldn’t care less. Saving my face in public was the only thing on my mind.
“Congratulations on finding your fated mate, Alpha Xavion. I wish you all the best!”
Xavion’s face darkened, his keep-your- mouth shut glare bore into mine. He grabbed my wrist and snarled at me.
“Answer my fucking question!
I have asked you something, omega!”
Alpha Xavion was the epitome of power and authority, he never failed to amaze me with his enigmatic personality. But now, I only felt repulsion, his warm touch churned my stomach.
My voice became bitter with resentment.
“You can’t question me about anything after selecting your Luna. We are done!”
For the first time in two years, my wolf came forward to assist me. I freed my wrist from Xavion’s steel grip easily.
“Merry Christmas, Alpha Xavion!
Have fun with your Luna.”
Rubbing my eyes mercilessly, I spun around sharply, leaving the party with my head held high. My wolf, Bella, fastened my pace, aiding me to run away from the hall. I burst into tears after leaving the building.
“Why???”
The scenes of our two years of relationship flashed before my eyes, laughing at me. I couldn’t find any mistake in loving my celebrity crush. There was no doubt that I was Xavion’s one of the biggest fans across the four Kingdoms, cheering for his every success. He was my idol, the love of my life, I didn’t hesitate to leave my homeland for him.
Walking mindlessly, I was oblivious of colors and lights in the surrounding, my world was darkened by the cruel betrayal of my lover.
It reminded me of Christmas three years ago when I asked my dad for permission.
“I would like to study at the University of South, dad. Please allow me to go there.”
My dad raised his brow, “You are only fifteen, princess. Even if I pull some strings for you, the administration will catch your lie because of your appearance.”
As passing college wasn’t a problem for a brilliant student like me, my dad highlighted an important issue. So, I promised him.
“Please give me some time for preparations, dad.”
From gaining weight to studying without a break, I did everything to enroll in the University of South. I wasn’t even sad while leaving my Palace, winning over my crush’s heart was my only dream.
My dad prepared fake ID and papers for me, “From now on, you are Azlynn Eastwood, an omega from the suburbs of South kingdom. Your scent will be altered from an Alpha to an omega.
No one should know that you are the princess of the East Kingdom.”
Soon, Azlynn Eastwood, a nerd and extreme introvert became a cheerleader in the University of South, following football star Xavion Waller like a moth to flame. Luckily, my advances caught his attention, and we started dating.
It took us a month to be exclusive!
Everything was fine, we were madly in love with each other. He even promised to marry me as his Luna, then how could he do this to me?
My trail of thoughts was abruptly halted by my wolf’s comment, she spoke bleakly.
“He has found his fated mate, Ann. This was bound to happen!”
So, my years of sacrifices, love, and affection were nothing before a mate-bond?
If Xavion only wanted to be with his mate, then why did he fill my heart with dreams? How could he forget his promises and slander me like this?
Overthinking was causing a short-circuit in my brain, burning my nerves with its sparks. The devastation of losing my love overpowered my senses.
I was lost in my thoughts when the fireworks in the sky broke my trance, the exhilarated greetings, bells of church, and the songs of prayers echoed in the surroundings, reminding me of my own milestone.
Raising my head, I glanced at thousands of sparks, and glittering golden and silver showers in the sky, and congratulated my wolf.
“Happy eighteenth birthday, Bella. We are indeed destined for loneliness.”
However, the colorful spiral of whirls arranged into Alphabets in the sky, startling me. The pang of betrayal cut through my soul once more with the greetings.
“Merry Christmas, Valerie!
Love, Xavion!”
A desolate shriek rolled out of my tongue as my head spun, splashing down two rivers of despair from my eyes. Xavion had crossed all the limits tonight, burning the last bit of our connection by using my birthday party to insult me.
Walking out of the Campus’s gate, I was on the verge of nervous breakdown when a black Limousine stopped before me.
A man over 1.9 m tall, dressed in a pure black suit came out of the car. His warm voice was like the ray of light in the impenetrable darkness.
“Happy birthday, little princess.
Did you recognize Alpha Xavion as your soulmate?”
My brother, Howard’s query broke the bounds of my restraints. I rushed to hug him.
“Xavion has found his fated mate, brother!”
Howard secured me in his embrace protectively. Unsettled by my anguish, his chest vibrated with low growls.
“Tell me, little princess. What can I do for you?
Your brother can avenge your honor.”
With the power of the entire East Kingdom, it was child’s play to take care of an Alpha of a pack for us. But I was done with all the suffering.
Sobbing piteously, I requested him.
“Take me home, brother. I am tired!”
…
That heartsick brother-sister duo rode the black Limousine to leave the campus, closing the chapter of unrequited love. They were unaware of the fact that a mobile camera had saved this moment from afar …
