Chapter 3 As Doubts Arise

Nayko Ayasame 883 words

When practically every participant in the hunting festival returns to the lake, the day has turned to night. However, even after everyone has waited a long time, the king has yet to become apparent. His absence causes Siera a great deal of concern; Gwi being this late is unusual. He was always one of the participants that returned from the hunt sooner.

When the queen sees no indication of her husband's return, she orders the royal soldiers to seek for him right away. She does not want anything awful to happen to him. Key and Ryu accompany the queen and continue to try to calm Siera down. Gwi is a strong and capable man who would never allow something horrible to happen to him.

"Oh, my queen! Someone witnessed the king riding a horse back to the palace in a hurry." A female maid approaches Siera and reports to her. Her expression is filled with dread.

"Why is he just coming back without saying anything?" The queen is perplexed. It's unusual for Gwi to go without telling her anything.

"I'm not sure, but..." the female attendant continues hesitantly.

"But then what? Has he been injured?" Siera becomes more concerned as a result of her hesitation.

"His Majesty is safe and sound, but... he is not alone," the female servant tells the queen, her voice shaking with anxiety.

"What exactly do you mean?" Siera is looking for more specific information because she is unable to comprehend the scenario.

"He brought a stranger woman with him. She is injured, according to the witness. It appears that the king intends to seek immediate treatment for her," the female attendant said, leaving Siera stunned.

She understands that Gwi would never abandon somebody who was hurt in front of his eyes. However, if something horrible happens during the hunting event, a doctor will be accessible in the medical emergency tent. Why didn't Gwi bring her there and just soared straight to the palace without looking back? Furthermore, Siera is well aware that the hunting festival participants this year are all men. Then where and how did the king meet the woman? She has a lot of questions in her head.

The queen quickly went in search of a horse and rode it directly to the palace. She is unconcerned, despite the fact that everyone advises her to take carriage. She doesn't want to put off her trip any longer. The royal troops pursue her with their horses from behind. With so, the hunting festival that year unexpectedly ended without a winner.

When Siera arrives at the palace, she inquires about Gwi's whereabouts. However, the servant hesitated to answer her inquiry.

"Where is he?!" the queen exclaims, irritated by her lack of response.

"His...his majesty is...in his private room," the attendant says tremblingly in response to her enquiry. Siera is no longer deliberating or waiting. She dashes towards the king's private apartment, determined to come face-to-face him.

"Your Majesty!" The female audience member is attempting to stop her from behind, but Siera continues to walk.

When she gets to the door to Gwi's personal chamber, she notices two guards standing in front of it. Siera is ready to open the door when she is stopped by the guard. It's just not logical for her. Why is she now barred from entering her own husband's room?

"We are very sorry, your majesty, but the king has ordered us not to let anyone pass through the door," the guard says. Siera frowns at his words. Why? What in the world happened?

"Your Majesty, the king is treating someone inside and he believes it is best to allow the patient to rest comfortably," the guard continues.

"And who exactly is this patient?" Siera is about to lose her cool over this. The guard is unable to respond since they do not know the identify of the woman inside with the king.

"Your Majesty, I believe it is best for you to return to your own room and rest for the time being," the female attendant advises. Siera's face became stern. She refuses to accept it, but her pride compels her to return to her own chamber.

"Can you explain to me what happened here?" When Siera is in her private chamber, she demands an explanation from her servants. She is glaring at the servant with strong cold eyes, indicating that the queen is irritated at the moment.

"I apologize for informing you of this, your majesty, but when the king entered the palace, he was holding the unconscious woman in his arm. I don't mean to worry you or cast doubt on their relationship, but I simply think... this is highly odd for the king to regard another woman except you like that. I sincerely apologize," the servant says, not daring to lift her head and look straight at the queen.

The servant explanation hurt Siera's heart even more. Gwi was simply carrying another woman in his embrace. He can instruct a guard to carry her body no matter how serious her condition was. Why does he have to carry her in his own hand? The queen's heart was filled with jealousy and uneasiness.
