POV: Allie
My sister is pregnant with my husband's child, and everyone is celebrating with her. They are even expecting me to be happy for her too.
"How could you be mean to her, Allison! She is your sister, and she is pregnant! Can't you be sympathetic to her condition?" Mom yelled at me furiously when I told her what her precious daughter had done.
All our lives, she has always wanted everything I had, and if she couldn't have it, she ruined it for me. So I'm used to seeing her go crazy just to get everything she wants. It's not the first time she has taken something from me, but it's certainly the first time I'm prepared to fight back.
We may be twins, but we are nothing alike, and for some weird reason, she hates my guts and always tries to make things difficult for me. Mom never sees anything wrong with her actions, and Dad and my brothers chose to ignore it and let us settle it as sisters, whatever that means.
She bullied me in high school and made other students hate me as well. Although, sometimes I try not to blame her for my own clumsiness. I mean, it's not her fault that I got the downside of the genes, whereas she got all the good ones. To top it all, I haven't met my wolf yet, and everyone thinks I'm a disgrace to the pack. In the history of the Moon Blood pack, I'm the first without a wolf. Hence the hatred and bullying from everyone, including my mom and my sister.
It's understandable that the pack hates me for being weak and useless, but my sister's hatred is something I just don't understand. Several times I've tried to make her see my pains and understand how I feel each time she hurts me, but she never cares to listen. Not once did she show our bond as twins. I couldn't take the abuse and bullying anymore, and so I got married at twenty-five years old to the first Alpha that came for my hand.
Getting married to Alpha Williams and leaving the pack for good had been the best decision I'd ever made. He may not treat me right or even care about me like I truly deserve, but I was his chosen mate and I was not bullied or abused by anyone. He was obviously bothered by my wolfless condition and the fact that we have been together for four years without a child.
But he never took it out on me or made me feel unloved. He cared for me and provided everything I needed, and for me, that was enough. It's way better than I was treated in my own pack, and I was content with building my life in his pack and working on our relationship. I was content with my husband, my job, and the pack.
In fact, everything seemed perfect, and even if it wasn't much, I was happy. For the first time in my life, I was happy, and my happiness radiated in our lives. Williams won huge contracts worth billions of dollars for his company, I got a promotion at work too, and everything seemed perfect.
Until the day she came visiting...
It was our thirtieth birthday, and she came under the guise of celebrating with me and making up. I was thrilled to have her. I practically worshipped the ground she walked on because this had been my dream. All my life, I have prayed for this day, and I was so happy she was finally ready to change and acknowledge our bond as twins.
I was happy when she said she would be staying a while in Scarlett Wolf Pack. "I think I might find my mate here, I have a feeling that this is where I'm meant to be," she told me excitedly.
Of course, I was happy to have my sister staying in the same pack with me. If she finds her mate here, it'll be an added bonus because we would be so close to each other and our bond would improve. At least that's what I thought until a few days after our birthday party when I was invited to the Alpha's baby shower.
It seemed weird. I mean, I'm the Alpha's mate, and I'm certainly not pregnant with the Alpha's baby. It's been more than two years since he touched me, let alone got me pregnant.
With tears in my eyes, I drove to the venue, my heart beating in my chest as I prepared myself for the worst. When I pulled up in front of the massive mansion, I realized that it was the pack house that Williams was building. I had seen the building plans, and I could see all the people I knew in this pack, including his family and mine. Music echoed from the building, mixed with laughter and happy cheers.
I quickly wiped my face and rubbed my swollen eyes, hiding away my pain and tears. I took a deep breath before walking down the path leading to the entrance. A few people stumbled past me, but none seemed to recognize me. It felt like I was invisible or something. I walked to the door, only to be stopped by the bouncers stationed outside the building.
"We were asked to keep you out here," they said sternly, stopping me from entering the party. I peeked at the hallway and saw the banner with my husband and my sister's picture hung boldly with their names inscribed on it.
"Alpha Williams and Luna Ariana's baby shower."
"It's a boy and a girl! Alpha Williams has finally been blessed with twins!" someone said excitedly.
"I'm so glad he divorced the barren and wolfless Luna," another person added, making them laugh and dance excitedly. It felt like the air got stuck in my throat. I couldn't breathe. I just stood there like a fool until it dawned on me that I'd been played big time. I furiously slapped the guy standing in front of me, glaring daggers at him.
"I am the Alpha's chosen mate! Get the Alpha for me right now, or I'll have your heads!" I let out with anger and authority. My voice attracted the attention of some guests, and I heard them whispering amongst themselves, laughing at me.
"She actually thought we would make her out to be Luna when she has no wolf and can't even give the Alpha an heir!" they gossiped amongst themselves.
"Allison, what are you doing here?" I heard from down the hall. His stern voice brought me out of my reverie, and I looked up to see my husband and my sister approaching me, walking hand in hand.
"You're having a child with my sister?" I asked him, looking into his eyes for evidence that it was a joke, but there was none. It was as real as it could be.
"I told you she would come here to cause trouble, didn't I? She is such a show-off! I've always known you to be vindictive, Allie. You're here to ruin the party, aren't you?" Ariana let out furiously, making me scoff at her lies. I guessed she invited me here to make a fool out of me, and I wouldn't stand for it.
"Leave here, Allison! I have found the right woman for me, and we are having a baby. I won't let you ruin our party!" he told me furiously, his eyes blazing with anger. I could not recognize the man I'd been married to for five years. I saw no traces of love or affection in his eyes, just hatred.
