Chapter 2 Kayla’s POV

T’writes 1.1k words

I decided to pay a visit to my best friend. We both agreed to meet at the bar where she worked at night.

“Babes, you do not look good at all, why are your eyes swollen?” Sally asked me.

“Sally, I have a feeling Justin is really seeing another woman,” I confessed to her, being unable to hold back my tears. I had been crying all day because I didn't know how to handle the situation.

“You know that's impossible right?”

“It is, I went through his messages.”

“What?” Sally said a little on top of her voice.

Justin and I used to be envied in school because we were this famous couple that no one could come in between. Maybe he had finally grown tired of loving one woman in so many years.

Sally was furious because she had been there all along and knew the sacrifices that I made just so that this marriage could be where it was today.

“Why would he even think of doing such a thing to you?”

“You never know, maybe he's tired. I mean it's been years already.”

“Don't you dare say that, you sacrificed a lot for this relationship so it's not going to end like that. Tell me what's her name?”

“Ella Brey, I don't know who she is but…”

“Wait a minute… are you talking of the same Ella Brey?”

“Is she someone I'm supposed to know?” I asked Sally curiously because she seemed to know who this Ella Brey was.

“Everyone, especially in the gallery knows who she is. She's married to Zach Fleming.”

“Seriously?” Zach Fleming was a son of the Fleming family. They were one of the richest in the country.

“So what the hell is she doing with my husband?”

“I am as surprised as you are, no offense but your husband is nowhere close to Zach's status.” I was in deep thought still trying to understand the reason why she was with my husband in the first place when she had someone like Zach by her side.

“Work calls, you know I'm actually thinking of quitting this bar job and just focusing on my morning job at the company.” I was still thinking about what she just told me so I couldn't even respond to what she was talking about.

“Kayla, I know this isn't easy for you, if I were in your shoes I wouldn't know how to handle such a situation as well, so I want you to calm down and not do anything stupid.”

“Sally, you don't understand how I feel. He betrayed me, he broke the trust in our relationship. Do you even have an idea of how that hurts?”

“Kayla, you're drinking too much already, let me help you get a cab, so I can go back to my work.” I didn't even want to look at his face right now so going home was not what I wanted.

“I'm fine, I'm just going to finish this bottle and go home.”

“Are you sure?” I forced a smile immediately and nodded my head.

Sally went ahead to start her work while I continued to drink, when the bottle finished I remembered the promise I made to Sally but I couldn't keep it because I needed more drinks. Maybe after drinking I would be able to feel better.

I requested another bottle, and after that I still requested another one until I was completely wasted but the only thing was no matter how much I drank I still could not forget the hurt, I thought drinking would help me out of my misery but in reality I only got drunk but I could still remember everything.

I picked up my phone and started sending messages to Justin. After sending so many messages to him, the only message that made sense was when I asked when he would be back home. I was patiently waiting to get a reply from him. This made me remember how he would immediately reply to my messages in the past, but this time even after so many messages I did not get any response so I continued drinking.

When I was almost done with the last bottle my phone lit up with a message, I expected the message to be from him but the moment I opened my phone I noticed the message was from Sally instead.

“I just saw Zach Fleming! He just walked into the VIP room. He's so handsome. I wish you were still here I would have…”

Sally stopped sending the message when our eyes met. She probably thought I had already gone home. I gulped the last drink left in the cup and was about to get up from my seat to go meet Zach before Sally came to stop me.

“What are you still doing here Kayla? You… oh my goodness I can't believe you drank all this.” Sally looked at my table in disbelief. I was not usually such a heavy drinker but this time I had so much to drink.

“Take me to Zach, I want to have a conversation with him.”

“What? You don't mean it right?”

“I mean everything that comes out of my mouth, please take me to him, I have something important to tell him,” I requested. Sally looked confused as she was hesitating to take me there because of my present state.

“You are not in your right mind right now Kayla. You can't go to him. Do you even know who you're trying to meet with? That is Zach Fleming.”

“His wife is sleeping with my husband!” I yelled at the top of my voice causing the attention of everyone to be on both of us. Sally couldn't stop me anymore so I found my way to the VIP room but when I was about to go in the bouncer stopped me.

“I have to speak with Zach, let me in.” I told the bouncer at the door.

I knew that Ella and Justin were the total opposite when it came to social status so I was very sure Ella wasn't serious with him she just wanted to destroy our marriage. I needed to save my marriage at all costs so speaking to Zach might help.

I was staggering because I already had too much to drink.

“Ma'am, please leave, you're constituting a nuisance here.” I raised my head to look at the bouncer and at this moment I knew that I had to do something stupid before I could get in.

“I have something to say about his wife and my husband!” I yelled at the top of my voice hoping Zach would hear me.
