Freya’s P.O.V
After A Month
Ever since that day with Thorne, I hadn't seen him again. I'd been confined to my quarters, forbidden from stepping out until the pregnancy test results came in.
My prison was luxurious—every necessity provided: food, dresses, snacks. The only restriction? No phones, cutting me off completely from the outside world.
Still, I clung to the hope this would soon be over. Today, when the test results arrived, Thorne would have to keep his word and release me.
Plopping on the couch, a wave of sadness washed over me as I rubbed my hands on my empty stomach before heaving an exasperated sigh. Dr. Ann's words echoed in my mind like a cruel mantra: You'll never bear a child.
As much as those words were like daggers that pierced through my heart, those words gave me the comfort and reassurance that finally, my days here would be over.
Throwing popcorn into my mouth, I turned on the TV, and the next minute, my heart slammed against my ribs, my eyes almost bulging out of their sockets when news about a funeral procession was being broadcast.
My chest heaved and I jumped to my feet, the bowl of popcorn slipping off my hands to the ground and I rubbed my hands on my eyes to be sure that I was seeing right.
This couldn't be real.
How could there be a funeral procession for me when I was alive?
Anger seeped through my veins as my jaw clenched and I fisted my dress. “ Tyson and Ariel...” I muttered through gritted teeth.
The camera panned across mourners - my blurred face displayed on memorial banners. Of course. Father had always kept me hidden. The world knew Tyson had a wife, but never cared to learn her name.
Tears welled in my eyes and rage burned within me when I saw the way a scream tore from Ariel’s mouth as the coffin was being leveled to the ground.
A bitter laugh erupted from my lips as I tangled my fingers through my hair. “ Fucking crocodile tears! That bitch smashed me with a vase against my skull!”
Then Tyson's performance - Tyson threatened to jump into the grave, screaming that he couldn’t live without me and would rather be buried alongside the coffin.
“My wife!”
With every second that my gaze lingered on the screen, the anger that coursed through me intensified.
A single scalding tear escaped, carving a path down my cheek.
What sick game were they playing?
What sort of mockery was this?
With a snarl, I killed the broadcast, hurling the remote aside. My head fell back, eyes burning as I fought the dam of tears threatening to break.
I swiped angrily at my face, forcing down the suffocating lump in my throat.
They would pay.
I was so going to make life a living hell for Tyson and Ariel!
“You all just wait till I come back.” My chest heaved up and down and the tension in the air thickened. Different thoughts about how to deal with Ariel and Tyson coursed through my mind and no matter how much I tried, I couldn’t come up with a perfect plan on how to teach those horrible beings a lesson.
How I fell in love with Tyson was beyond me. How I was never able to see through him and realize that he was an evil person was disturbing to me.
I did everything to ensure that he loved only me and me alone. Now that I thought about it, when did Ariel and Tyson start having an affair behind my back?
As much as I could remember, Ariel had always taunted me for being a powerless Lycan Princess who had to settle for a werewolf because no Lycan in his or her right senses would settle for me.
A laughter rippled from my mouth at that moment. “She always declared her hate for him and yet, she was having an affair with him behind my back! That witch!”
Suddenly, I was jolted out of my thoughts when a knock landed on the door and the door creaked open. Instinctively, I swung my head in the direction of the door while a servant that had been assigned to me came inside holding a tray, containing a cup of coffee.
“Coffee for you, miss. The head servant said that it would help with the pregnancy.”
The words that left her mouth did nothing but trigger the senses in my head and intensify my anger. I clenched my fist, glaring at the servant who lowered her head, and as much as I wanted to flare up, I controlled myself, settling within myself that this was my last day of drinking bitter coffee mixed with different sorts of weird herbs.
I heaved a sigh. “Leave it on the table, please.”
She gave a simple nod, placing the tray on the coffee before lowering her head again. “Miss Freya, the doctor is here to give you the test results.”
Relief flooded through me. “Show him in!”
Amidst the storm that brewed within me, excitement bubbled within me and I swiveled my gaze around the entire room.
I wasn’t going to miss this place because I never considered it my home.
When the doctor came inside, a smile spread across my face as I folded my hands behind me.
“Miss Freya.”
I gestured for him to sit while I sat across from him.
“The test results,” He said with an inscrutable expression on his face.
My heart raced with excitement as the doctor handed me an envelope. “Tyson and Ariel, you two just wait for me,” I muttered to myself before ripping the envelope open.
Pulling out the papers in the envelope, my eyes scanned it and I couldn’t just wait to see what I had been expecting. All of a sudden, the smile on my face vanished and a wave of dizziness washed over me.
I placed a hand on my head, steadying myself while trying to make sense of what was going on.
“Sir...” My voice was barely above a whisper. “Can you please tell me the meaning of this?”
The doctor's face broke into a radiant smile as he leaned forward. “Congratulations, Miss Freya! You are pregnant with quadruplets!”
