"In some loops, you don't have children," Elena explained. "In others, you have a daughter instead of a son. In a few loops, you have twins."
"And in the loops where we succeed?" I asked hopefully.
"There are no loops where you succeed," Viktor said bluntly. "That's why we keep resetting."
"But...
