I wasn't quite asleep, neither was I awake. My body was numb and my mind was clouded.

It felt as if the world had disappeared and I was forced to survive this miserable life…

The moon goddess was probably also laughing at my stupidity… to think that Zade actually loved me. All be wanted was to sleep with me for a heir.

My lips were cracked from dehydration, but I had to stay strong for my son.

I hear footsteps, moving closer. Then there were voices, the voices were unmistakable, loud and sharp.

Fear crawled over my skin as the footsteps got closer.

I forced my eyes open, blinking in the dark, clutching unto the hem of my dress.

The door creaked open and a little light peaked through the cell but I still couldn't see anything. Three shadows stepped in with their faces covered with mask

Suddenly, a rough hand yanked me up.

“Wha…what!?” My voice hitched, I tried to struggle but I was too weak.

I screamed, only to have something shoved into my mouth, muffling the sounds. They dragged me out of the cell. I winced as my sprained ankle scraped against the hard stone floor.

I was thrown to the ground like an object that had no value.

“How did you put up with her for a year?” A familiar voice said, his voice dripping with mockery.

‘Alpha Draven?’ I thought.

Then I heard the next voice… it was unmistakable.. I had heard it everyday for a year.

Zade..

“She was quite the easy one. It was easy to get the town on my side because of her, she was quite useful,” Zade chuckled.

“I'm only doing this because it benefits me but our rivalry still remains. I'm not going to trade a deal for my Pack's protection.” Alpha Draven uttered.

I'm a deal? What deal? What was Zade doing with his sworn enemy?

I mustered some courage and crawled towards Zade, I didn't know what I expected him to do but it was certainly not this. He grabbed a fistful of my tangled hair and yanked me forward.

I stumbled and landed hard at Draven's feet.

“Hey.. you two, take her,” Draven ordered the two guards that were standing behind him. “Nice doing business with you,” he muttered to Zade.

I was grabbed like I was nothing, an object to be used and tossed off to the next.

They dragged me out into the cold, through familiar terrain until we arrived at the borders of the Silver fang pack.

The maids of the palace laughed at me as we walked past them.

Draven halted as we reached a little door.

“Remember the time you poked your hands in my face?” Draven whispered, his hot breath brushing against my skin. “I still remember the look on your face and how you made me feel. You should have accepted my offer then but instead you ran off like a pathetic errand dog for the man who only married you because his lover was taking a break.”

" Now I can have you to myself, and treat you the way I want,” he muttered, his hands trailing down my chest. "And you know what's interesting? I bought you at a price I wouldn't even buy a street beggar.”

My skin crawled, every word.. every touch made my resolve drop. Zade sold me out to his enemy. He knew how much I hated Draven, how much I stood by his side just to bring Draven down.

“Now you can really start living miserably.” He added as he opens the door and pushed me into the room.

I felt alone, my heart ached so bad I wanted to kill myself....to end this miserable thing called a life. Just as I was contemplating on the idea…I felt a presence then I saw it—a feet.

I tried to move but I was instantly cut off by a palm clamping over my mouth.

Hearing a growl sent a shiver down my spine. My heart nearly stopped. The growl wasn't from any low ranked wolf.

That couldn't be an Alpha, maybe a rogue?

I couldn't tell but one I knew death was here already.

I was weak… all the energy I had had been drained by the betrayal of the ones I loved the most and the words of the one I hated the most.

I groaned, barely able to lift my head when the lights came on. A strong arm slid under my arm and pulled me up. I felt movement, and I didn't know where we were going.

My head throbbed, my feet felt sore and I couldn't feel my body. I caved in and passed out.

I fluttered my eyes slowly… taping my chest as I gasped for air. I couldn't breathe, my chest tightened, my vision blurred.

The man staring down at me wasn’t Draven and he certainly wasn’t Zade either. The man standing right in front of me was taller, bolder and fierce.

His eyes were sharp and silver like ice, fixed on me with such brutal intensity that I felt like shrinking into nothing. His hair was tousled black, and his aura was suffocating.

I looked around and saw the furnitures, the bed I was laid on and the luxury I was surrounded with.

Tears blurred my vision. I wasn't ready for whatever he was going to say… I had heard enough to break my spirit.

Then he spoke, his voice came low and controlling, somehow even terrifying than Zade's.

“Look up.” He uttered.

I tried not to move, not to speak or even lift a finger.

“I said, look up.” He repeated. I hesitated, every part of me shaking..

Then he added, with a casual cruelty that made my stomach twist, “If you keep that up, I might start thinking you're not what they say you are. I do not bargain for weaklings.”

I forced my head up, still trembling. This was a matter of life and death.

“I don't know what you've heard but I'm not weak. I just want my son back and kill everyone that tried to take him away from me.”

His lips twitched, and a cruel smirk spread across his face.

“You're really something. You have the nerve to think I'd care?”

I didn't care if crying made me look pathetic. My child was the only reason I was still breathing. I had to get him back from Zade and to do that, I had to survive and I would do anything to survive.

He stepped forward slowly, his claws extended, and his fangs revealed themselves….

I closed my eyes m, trembling in fear. Would this really be the end of me? Is this the way I die?

Suddenly the door creaked open.

“Alpha Caspian.”
