2nd Chapter
Prince Mathew York pov
Viola and I exited the principal’s office together. My bodyguards had been waiting for me... “Miss Viola, that’s what I’m saying. Are you prepared? Is there anything you need to take from your room?” I described it as formal.
I didn’t know how to approach her at the time. She wasn’t a businesswoman, and she wasn’t even a woman. But she wasn’t a little girl either.
She let out a light chuckle. “Such formality! Please refer to me as Viola, and I will refer to you as Mathew. And, yes, I do need to go to my room right now. I’m going to pack my clothes in a small bag and....”
I severed her. “You won’t need any clothing. We’ll go shopping and get you whatever you want. What else is there?”
She raised her brow. “Purchase items for me? Why is this so?”
“Because you are my partner’s daughter?” I shrugged. I’m not sure if I was telling her or questioning myself.
But money was not an issue for me. Buying something and spending thousands of dollars was actually normal.
She mocked me by pointing her fingers at my nose. “Yes, there is one more thing. Please don’t fall in love with me. “She gave me a wink.
And I remained in my place, stunned by her gut...
Was she joking? I’m never going to fall for my partner’s daughter! Most importantly, I will never fall in love with a human girl. Or perhaps I will?!
I was distracted, and she snapped her fingers “hello! Mr.Mathew, get back to earth. I was only joking. Actually, I don’t mind falling in love with a hot, handsome man like you.” She licked the inside of her lip.
My eyes widened, and I cupped her jaw. “Don’t say things like that! You are not a prostitute. Do you understand?” I said sternly in an irksome tone.
She blinked and politely nodded her head. “Please accept my apologies. I didn’t mean to do it.” She immediately apologized.
I averted my gaze from her. “Let’s return to your room now. I need to go there and get some things.” “You want to get stuff from my room?” I asked, to which she exclaimed.
“Yes, now show me your room,” I said firmly, grabbing her hands.
And she silently obeyed and walked alongside me...
Until we get to her room. I took a few quick glances here and there until I found what I was looking for. I went over to her desk and took the photos. “You must now destroy all of your ex-photographs boyfriend’s and other mementos. Do you still have feelings for him?” Curiosity got the better of me, and I asked her.
Actually, I’m not sure why I wanted her to end everything and leave no trace of her relationship behind. But, on the other hand, something was compelling me to do so.
From the tip of her nose, she said horrid and confidently, “that garbage?! I wasn’t in love with him, and I’d never been in love with anyone before. I even despised my father.”
I raised my head and looked her in the eyes, “then why the hell did you...”
She let out a sigh. “I was desperate, and I was lonely. All I wanted was someone to be by my side who cared about me, “she said, lowering her gaze to the floor, frustrated.
Her voice, facial expressions, body language, and emotions were unfamiliar to me and drew me in like a magnet. I felt like I was drowning in her green eyes as if I’d never seen green eyes before.
And, yes, the girl was attractive. Her body was flawless, but I didn’t see her in that light. For God’s sake, she was my partner’s daughter, so I was practically her uncle or something. Even though we were only a few years apart in age, she was like a little girl to me. I will never, ever touch her or even...
Stupid!
What on earth am I thinking?! Why am I memorizing her?
She pushed her hands into my jacket, which surprised me. “What are you doing?” I asked.
“Looking for a lighter to burn the pictures!” she blinked.
I gave the nod. “Okay, fine... My men will handle it. Let’s get started.”
She smiled and muttered, ‘Thank you, Matthew.’
I returned her smile and walked out of her room, my arms around her back...
To spend the next few days in my hotel with a girl I’d never met before.
I’ve never cared for anyone before. And now it’s up to me to tame and care for that girl!
We arrived at my limo, and before we could settle into the back sofa...
Jake stood back, staring at Viola as if he wanted to eat her.
That guy appeared to be madly in love with her. If he loved her that much, I should know why he tried to force her to have an intimate relationship with him.
I teased Jake by opening the door for Viola and leaning in closer to her. “I guess he’s envious because you’re leaving with me,” I whispered.
She turned her head blithely to my neck, only to make me shiver from the sturdy and adorable scent of her body mixed with my favorite perfume. “Don’t fall for me like he did. He is madly in love with me.”
I gulped nervously as she entered the backseat and returned her gaze to Jake, who was huffing and puffing angrily without taking his head away from Viola or me.
I suppose she was partially correct. But why did she have to warn me for the second time in less than fifteen minutes? Why was she so certain of her intense feelings for other men?! She had no idea who she was up against! I’m not interested in love at all.
That’s why, as soon as the driver started the limo, I told her, “I’m not in love with anyone. Don’t be concerned.”
She gave a sheepish smirk. “We’ll see, handsome,”
