CHAPTER TWO

TITLE: Reborn.

The ray of sun reflected on Annabella’s face as she let out a soft groan and opened her eyes slowly.

Her eyes snapped open as she took in the unfamiliar surroundings, wondering where she was at that moment and what was going on.

She remembered being in the labor room, whimpering to herself at the betrayal shoved on her face.

It took her some minutes to realize that she was in her old bedroom, in her father’s Packhouse.

Confusion washed over Annabella as she tried to gather the pieces together.

How did she end up here? and why did everything seem so different?

Was she reborn?

Or she went back in time?

Slowly, the memories of her previous life began to resurface.

The death of her unborn child, Luna Grace's betrayal, Alpha Deaton's abandonment, and the pain of her death.

Annabella gasped as she realized everything that had happened.

She had been reborn, sent back in time to when she was still engaged to Alpha Deaton Winchester, a critical moment of her life.

She sprang up from her bed, rushing to the mirror to confirm her words.

Upon getting to the mirror, all she could see was her younger self, looking pretty and not tattered, battered, with pains and worries.

Before dying she had hoped and prayed for a second chance to correct her mistakes, and as if the moon goddess could hear her prayers, she was given a second chance to right every wrong.

Annabella heard the sound of laughter coming from downstairs and remembered the day.

Veneto was at home having breakfast with Luna Mary and in her past life she remembered joining them for breakfast.

Seeing Mary on the verge of her death brought pains to her heart and she must confront those pains and betrayers.

Annabella stepped out of her room slowly, heading to the dining room.

" You are here, Annabella." Luna Mary's voice cut through her thoughts as she let out a deep breath.

Seeing her mother brought a fresh pain in her heart.

Her mother was in the labor room when the doctor killed her with his syringe but she wasn't the only one there, Luna Grace and one other person were present.

Annabella stared at her mother keenly, wondering why her mother would want her dead.

Why did she not fight Grace? Or stop the doctor when he was about to murder her and her unborn baby with a syringe, allowing her to feel gruesome pain.

She unconsciously held her tummy, her eyes bore a deep hole on Luna Mary.

" Annabella, what's wrong? Why are you staring at our mother like that? Sit down and have breakfast."

Veneto’s voice interrupted her thoughts as she moved her gaze to him.

" I’m happy I realized everything that is going on and I was given a second chance to make things right. To trust the vicious and keep the villain far away." She blurted.

Luna Mary and Veneto shared an unexplainable glance before settling their gaze back on Annabella.

" What are you talking about Bella? Are you okay? Are you still mad at me for not picking you up yesterday?"

" I'm going to skip breakfast." She said, ignoring Veneto's statement, and turned around.

She was about to head to her room when Luna Mary’s voice made her halt.

" Alpha Deaton is on his way, so get ready."

Annabella went upstairs to her room without responding.

She got inside her room and shut the door hard, resting her back on it.

" Let's calm down, " Annabella said to herself, trying to calm her anxious heart but it was hard.

She began to bite her nails hard, her eyes swelling up in tears.

" They killed my baby, my precious gem," She muttered, whimpering as she kept biting her nails, hurting herself.

Her phone buzzed loudly and she walked over to the nightstand and took it.

An incoming call from Alpha Deaton.

She stared at her phone as it kept ringing till the call disconnected.

She looked at the date and her eyes widened not knowing when the phone dropped from her hand.

Today was the day her miserable life began.

Annabella took a deep breath to regain her composure.

She was still trying to calm herself down when a knock came on the door interrupting the silence.

Luna Mary entered her room. Concern was purely shown on her face as she approached Annabella.

" Darling, are you okay? you were not yourself when you came downstairs for breakfast and you did not even touch your food, why? Are you nervous about today, or you aren't hungry?"

She asked, placing her hand across Annabel's shoulder and almost immediately she flinched at her touch, the memory of her betrayal was still fresh in her mind.

She looked into Luna Mary's eyes, searching for any sign of the cold, calculating woman she had seen on the verge of her death but instead, all she could see was the lovely and affectionate mother she had known all her life.

Did she see them wrongly in the labor room?

Was she mistaken?

" I’m fine, Mother, I do not have an appetite to eat," Annabella responded, forcing a smile on her face.

" I just need some time to gather my thoughts."

Luna Mary nodded, getting her words and what she meant.

" If you say, you are ready to eat, please let me know, and remember, Alpha Deaton is on his way, I don't want you to keep him waiting like you always do, clumsy daughter."

Annabella nodded at her mother's words.

Her heart almost leaped if her eyes hadn't been opened to the true color of Alpha Deaton

" I have heard. I would like to freshen up."

She said her voice barely above a whisper.

Luna Mary nodded and left the room, as Annabella was left alone drowning in her thoughts.

She began to prepare for the outing, selecting a black short that barely reached her kneecap with a sleeveless top and a long-sleeve jacket.

She couldn’t stop the feeling and thought of meeting Alpha Deaton, but she knew she had to meet him, it was inevitable.

A few minutes later, Annabella received a text message from Alpha Deaton letting her know that he was outside waiting for her patiently.

She went to meet him outside, hopping inside the car as they headed to a luxurious bridal store.

Annabella was taken to the dressing room where she changed her casual outfit to the wedding gown she had chosen before.

Her mind was not in the clothes she was wearing, it was clouded with the kind of decision she was about to make which would affect her life positively or negatively.

She could feel rage building up inside of her, as much as she thought about her past.

" Has anyone ever worn one of your gowns to break an engagement?" she asked, putting a shock on the worker's faces as they exchanged a confused look before replying to her.

"No, Princess."

The curtain opened, revealing her beautiful face to Alpha Deaton who looked satisfied at the curves the wedding gown displayed.

The proud smile on his face vanished when Annabella got a hold of a pair of scissors and tore the long wedding gown transforming it into a white mini gown.

" I'm not interested in this darn marriage!"

She declared her intention to break their engagement.

Alpha Deaton approached her, trying to stop her from walking out on him.

Annabella reacted swiftly, slapping his face as tears streamed down her face, putting a shock on the employee's face.

" I won't allow history to repeat itself," she said, her voice shaking with emotion.

"Not again."

" You can't cut off this engagement, you are carrying my child. The heir to Shadow Hunter Pack and also the heir to the Winchester Group.''
