My dad yells, "Hey," and then makes a beeline for me so that we may have a big bear hug. When my father, who is often too busy with the pack to pick me up, came up there suddenly, I should have known that something was wrong.
My mother took out a new sweater and gave it to me," Put it on,"
"We are relocating to a new pack, where the weather is much colder in the north, and we are going to begin a new life, Katrina," Even though she is making a concerted attempt to hide her unease behind a wry grin, my mother's eyebrows are still drawn together.
"Have I been kicked out?" I feel sick to my stomach and wonder.
"There was only one other family in our Pack that I know of that did not have a wolf for their baby, and they threw him away. "
"Yes, Tina is right. Alpha Nkosi has requested that you leave immediately. " My father lit a cigar and replied,
"So, I was banished as a garbage as well." I lowered my head, I was not only banished myself but made my parents to leave the pack as well.
"Obviously not, since you're our baby. We're moving in with a new wolf pack. Far better than alpha Nkosis."
"By the way, we should go," my father slammed the door once he walked in.
When my dad winked at me, I threw him a big smile and got into the backseat.
"Dad, what do you think? Are you willing to drop your position in the pack?" I'm worried that he'll lose his standing, so I ask him about it.
"I won't be a member of a Pack that shuns my daughter," he leaves no room for argument. I was fortunate to have the best parents, but I did feel awful about ripping them away from their friends and family here.
Mom puts her gentle front hand on my knee and says, "Everything will work out for the best, I promise. "
"You didn't miss the wolf shift, you simply started late. You are the offspring of two werewolves. Therefore, you are a werewolf." My father reassures me.
"We're relocating to the Cresant pack, where Alpha Antony has granted us shelter. "
"Cresant pack? The Pack that just declared war on the Mountain Ridge Pack? "
"The Alpha is really a wonderful person. He is glad to welcome us join his pack."
"No,He's a monster. Alpha Antony is feared by everyone. Everyone knows about that infamous Alpha because once slaughtered a whole pack and even his own father."
"There's no need in believing the stories; he probably had good reasons. "My mother replies, "Besides, it is not like anybody else would take us in."
"So he knows I don't have a wolf?"
My dad is silent for a minute and then he assures me that I won't have any problems as long as I show that I can contribute to the pack.
"Great, he doesn't know."
The terrain had snow-covered mountains, sections of dense forest, and lakes that were all located in close proximity to one another. The whole of my trip was successful in lulling me into a peaceful condition and drawing my focus away from the regret I felt about having to leave my pack.
While my dad was driving, I slept off and didn't wake up until we pulled over to a garage. I was completely drained off after 6 hours. My ass and back were both killing me.
Before one guy came up to us, my dad had already stocked up the storage shed with our belongings.
They guy was followed by several guards, they all bowed to him.
I realized immediately that he was a beta.
The guy with the black hair adds, "Alpha Antony requires your presence in the packhouse immediately."
His attention flickered across to me for an instant, causing a little palpitation in my chest, as he scrutinized my appearance in great detail.
"Is this your little girl?" He questioned my father, showing no attempt at concealing his displeasure; at that point, I interpreted his tone as fury.
"Yes, my daughter, Katrina. "
My dad introduces himself "Peter" and then he extends his hand to him to divert the man's focus from me.
"Beta Matthew, nice to meet you. "
"I learnt you used to be a Beta at your former Pack, we could use some assistance teaching some of the pack members if you're up for it?"
my dad agrees and introduces my mom thereafter.
"This is Dianna, my wife. "
My mom adds, "Nice to meet you," as she extends her hand to shake Matthew’s. The Beta's rage had subsided, but every time his eyes landed on me, he appeared befuddled.
Matthew hurried off in his black Porsche, saying, "Follow us."
We get back into the vehicle and tag along as he drives slowly through the peaceful town.
"Have you noticed how nice they are?" My mom often tries to reassure me that everything would be well, but she clearly didn't see the scowl the Beta was giving me.
We rode along with them in their car till we reached the outskirts of town and saw a path into the woods. When we arrived at the grand marble house, we parked in the semi - circle driveway.
