Lazar’s POV
She smelled so nice up close, like cherry blossoms. If only she knew how unbearable it was for me to stay this close to her and not do something inappropriate.
Speaking of inappropriate, did she just ask me about our wedding night?
“I don't know, what do you want to do?" I asked, clearly my throat to sound more convincing.
A smile spread across her face as she rose up from where she sat. She paced across the room, grabbed a board and scurried over to me.
“Can you play?" She asked, her eyes brimming with anticipation.
I looked at the board in her hand and it was a monopoly board. Playing games was not my thing but for her, I would do it.
“Yes." I answered and she quickly dismantled the items used for the game.
“I will play first. Try not to cry when you lose," she joked, throwing her first dice.
We both played for a long time, and for the first time in years I had a good laugh. She was funny and adorable. Her expressions warmed my heart.
Marrying her at that altar was definitely the best choice I have ever made. But my only problem is how long can I keep my real identity away from her?
Plus, the dangers surrounding me might affect her if I linger around her too much. I definitely have to find a solution to that.
After an hour of playing monopoly, she fell asleep on the couch. Her wine glass was completely empty and I could guess that she was drunk.
I carried her and walked towards a door which I assumed was her bedroom.
“You haven't answered my question yet, dear husband," she mumbled with a drunk voice.
“What is that exactly?"
“Our honeymoon. Do you want to make babies?" Her question threw me off guard and I almost lost my footing.
“Do...do you want that?"
“Want what?" She wrapped her arms around my neck, staring into my eyes with a drunk smile playing on her lips.
“I mean to make babies. Do you want us to make babies?"
“No, not yet. We will make some later. How many do you want?" She was so bold maybe it was the drunk effect.
“Well, that depends on you."
She pretended to be thinking then blurted out ten. “Let's make ten babies. Each will have a two year gap. That means you have to have sex with me ten times."
My heart stopped the moment she said those words and I suddenly felt something trickle down my nose.
Her eyes widened as she pointed at the thick liquid that ran out of my nose.
“Blood? You are having a nosebleed!" She panicked, pushing my head back before I could say anything.
Who won't have a nosebleed when a woman like her exists? She was very frank with her words and quite bold as well.
“Are you alright? Do you need me to help you stop the bleeding?"
“No, my dear, you have done enough I will take it from here," I said, escaping from her the next second.
‘God, she was going to be the death of me.'
After she slept off, I quietly left her apartment. Rodosov waited for me at the end of the street.
Once I got into the car, he gave me a tablet containing the information of Miriam's family members.
“The Harper family had pulled in a lot of debts and had gone bankrupt at some point. But their debts were magically cleared in a day. When I traced the account that settled the debts it contained the new madam's name," he briefed and I frowned, displeased by the information.
“So she settled her family's debt and they still betrayed her," I grumbled, reading through the Harper's profiles.
“Also, she helped her ex fiance get an exclusive contract with a renowned company. But her sister claimed it as her effort. Thereby, taking Miriam's credit," Rodosov added with clear annoyance in his voice.
Miriam's stepsister was a snitch who loved to steal Miriam's glory. Well, from now on, no one will bully My wife on my watch.
“Rodosov, pull out all the shares owned by the Harpers in every company they hold. And for that bastard, make sure he doesn't pass the interview. And call the director casting Miriam's stepsister to take the role from her and find a better replacement. They will pay for bullying my wife for the rest of their life." I declared, glaring at their incompetent and boring qualifications.
“Yes, sir. But what about the new madam? Won't pulling out the Harpers shares affect her?" He asked and I reasoned his point.
“For that, add ten percent of my shares to hers and don't make it noticeable. I don't want her thinking that I am rich or she will start suspecting my identity. Also, assign some bodyguards who will watch over her from afar in case the enemy. From now on, Miriam's safety and well-being is one of our major priorities," I stated with the determination to make her happy from now on.
