I swallowed hard, diverting my gaze elsewhere. 'How do you even know my name?'
I heard him clear his throat. 'I had the maids prepare some food for you. You've not had anything in four days. You might as well enjoy this little feast'. He sounded calmer than three seconds ago.
I wanted to ignore, bury myself back under the sheets but when the aroma hit me, I fled to the table where the three course meals laid and feasted on it, making up for the days I've been starved. Also, if I plan to escape, I'll need more energy to do that.
Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw him watch me. On a good day, I would have felt uncomfortable but right now, My least reaction is being uncomfortable.
After downing about three plates and 2 bottles of water, I charged him a small, sincere smile.
'Thank you'.
'Allow me sincerely apologize for the way you were treated when you were found in the territory.'.
I waved him off. 'It's nothing.' My gaze lingered on him longer than normal. 'Anyways. Who are you? The beta? A Gamma? You don't seem like a pack guard'.
He tilted his head to the side. 'Cassius Gordian'.
I drew back. 'C... Cass...'
'You can call me Adrian. Easy pronunciation, more flexible' he winked.
I pressed my hands to my chest. No way this is real. Cassius Gordian. The main reason the horror tales were told, the reason behind Brujah Pack being the most feared and powerful of all. He was rumored to be a god once. Cruel, Hot tempered, Impatient, powerful.. the Alpha of all Alphas..... Most packs have Only heard of him, few have had the privilege to meet him in person and they confirmed the authenticity of these rumors. I, a hated Lycanthrope, is mated to this man?.. no, not a man.. a god???. I shook my head in disbelief. No.. I can't be... I can't be mated to someone like him. It's wrong. Is this some sort of punishment from the moon goddess?
'Ironic. Isn't it?' his voice made me snap out of my oblivious state.
I nervously rubbed my arms.. 'Who are you, really?' I asked again. I do not want to believe he's who he claimed to be.
'I'm the one you all call Cassius Gordian' he repeated, very seriously.
Color drained from my face. He rushed to my side.
'Are you okay?'.
'Yes.. I am' I whispered.
A knock on the door interrupted us.
'Come in'.
A male as tall as Adrian made his way in, bowed upon seeing Cassius. His brows pulled together when he noticed me in the room. Cassius did the needful by introducing us.
'Rayna, meet Claudius, my beta. Claudius, My mate, Rayna'.
I waved and Claudius bowed in response.
'Alpha'.
'I'm all ears' Adrian regarded.
The man looked towards my direction skeptically..
'Say it'.
'The Alpha of Blood Moon Pack... He is here to see you.'
A muscle in Adrian's jaw ticked, the overall angry expression taking over. 'Based on what demand?'
Claudius nibbled on his lower lips for a split second. 'He claims your pack has what is his'
Rigid cords formed in his neck and his lopsided grin made me cringe inwardly. 'Take me to Him'. He ordered.
At his request, I sensed foreboding. It does seem like things might not go well for Alpha Klaus. Why would he walk into a den all by himself? Didn't he know what the Brujah clan is? Hasn't he heard of the almighty, cruel Cassius Gordian?
My eyes followed the duo as they headed out the room.
At the entrance, Cassius turned to face me. I cowered, scared to my guts. His next words made matters worse.
'Let's go'.
I shook my hands. 'No.... I can't... I don't want to'.
His jaw clenched. 'It's not a request Rayna... It's an order..'
Even if it was against my will, my legs danced to his tune, going contrary against my own intentions. We passed through stairs, halls, passages until we reached a large room. There, the Alpha I dreaded the most, sat. His lips curled into a malicious smile when he saw me. There were no traces of neither remorse nor regrets. My face reddened.. anger, embarrassment, sadness took the best of me. I wanted nothing than to punch that dirty grin off his face.
'Son of a bitch..' I cussed under my breath. It was the best I could do.
Cassius placed himself in front of me protectively. 'Why are you here?'
'To take what's mine' he responded, flicking his tongue over his lips in a perverted way.....
The way Cassius hands balled into fists, my guts tipped he's not taking that sentence well.
'And what is yours?' He approached Klaus, stealthily. Like a leopard, waiting for the right time to pounce on its prey.
He pointed his index finger at me. 'She is Mine. She belongs to the Bloodmoon Pack. Return her to us. I'm sure the Brujah Pack isn't a bully of course and wouldn't be hard hearted to claim what's not theirs. Moreover, we do not have one ounce of likeness for each ot..' His words stuck in his throat when Cassius slashed open the flesh on his neck.
'Klaus of the Blood Moon Pack.. You are mistaken. This one is no longer yours. She belongs to me noww' he corrected, his words coming off as a low rumble
~~>Cassius Gordian~~>
In the twinkle of an eye, I had his neck snapped and his lifeless body thrown to the floor..
'Clean this mess and have his body sent to his pack with a warning' I referred my words to Claudius, a little unsatisfied at how quick I made his death. A slow, torturing death would have been better for a piece of shit like him. I just couldn't afford to do that when Rayna watched the whole time with horror filled eyes. Not only did he trespass by coming to my pack to claim my mate in my damned presence! He had tried to kill her too! Because of him, six lives of Lycanthropes were taken!! I snorted, a new wave of anger exploding within me.... Blood Moon Pack definitely needs some rebranding. Claudius offered me a piece of clothing. I cleaned my blood stained hands on it and headed back into my space. Of course, I dragged my smitten mate along.
