Two days ago, Lena had just changed out of her uniform ready to leave the bar when a pair of arms wrapped around her waist from behind. She turned swiftly and landed a slap on the face of the man she saw behind her, that man was none other than Henderson Bain.
He stared at the woman in shock, and when he tried to explain things to her she lashed at him claiming he was just a pervert who loved to mess around.
Henderson had only seen her from behind, he thought she was Lia the girl he was having a fling with since they had the same hair and height. He was going to apologise when he realised it wasn't Lia but before he could open his mouth the lady's hand collided with his face making him furious.
No one dared to lay their hands on him, he was Henderson Bain, the CEO of Zel empire! Women swoon over him not the other way round.
"How dare you woman!" He snarled his eyes turning red with anger.
Lena glared at him, she hated his guts instead of trying to apologise he was yelling at her.
"You shameless jerk! You should be ashamed of harassing me," she seethed.
Henderson burst out laughing and that made Lena more furious.
"What would I do with an unattractive woman like you? Even a blind man wouldn't be interested in you," Henderson mocked before ambling away.
Lena stood rooted in her spot, what did he mean by that statement? Even a blind man wouldn't be interested in her, no one had ever told her that. She clenched her fist and wanted to go after him, but when she looked around he was nowhere to be seen.
Taking several deep breaths to calm herself down, she made a decision she was going to quit this job. It was either some guy was flirting with her or throwing daft pickup lines at her but today was the height of it.
That shameless man had the guts to touch her. She went to her boss and told him her intentions, he pleaded with her to rethink since she was the best worker he had but she politely turned him down. Seeing that Lena's mind was made he paid her her salary in full, even though there were still ten days left to month end. Lena thanked him for his kindness before heading back home.
Henderson on the other hand wasn't able to take the scene of that lady slapping him off his mind, he was terribly upset that even Itzel noticed his change of mood when he returned home. A thought came to his mind and he smirked evilly. He was going to make that crazy lady pay for daring to lay her hands on him.
Earlier that day before he left the bar he got some information that the lady who slapped him worked in the bar. The next day he went to the bar and told the owner to fire the woman who slapped him, after describing Lena he was told that she resigned last night.
"She made the right decision," he cackled before storming out of the bar leaving the workers muttering to themselves.
He was only going to forgive that lady if she never cross his path. But if she ever did, he was going to make her regret slapping him.
Some of the workers were on Lena's side because they knew her to be a person who wouldn't raise her voice at anyone not to talk about slapping them. But the few who didn't like Lena blamed it all on her for daring to slap a man.
"Dad, I like her and I want her to be my Nanny," Itzel mumbled making both Lena and Henderson who were in a heated argument turn to her.
Both were surprised, Lena thought Itzel didn't want her as her Nanny seeing how she acted earlier. But at this point, there was no way she was going to accept this job when this man was Itzel's father.
Henderson almost choked when he heard his daughter say she liked this woman. He was never going to let a woman like her be Itzel's Nanny.
"I'm sorry sweetie but I can't be your Nanny," Lena said with pursed lips.
"But why?" Disappointment laced Itzel's voice as she spoke.
"Don't worry about this woman Zel. I'm going to get you a much better Nanny," Henderson muttered placing both hands on his daughter's shoulders.
"I only want her Daddy," Itzel frowned looking into her dad's eyes.
Lena felt bad for the little girl but remembering who her father was she was never going to accept the job. After all, he could get someone else to be his daughter's Nanny.
"She can't be your Nanny, Zel. You have to understand," Henderson sighed crouching in front of Itzel and holding her hands.
"I want her," Itzel insisted taking her hands out of her Dad's grip.
"What are you still doing here!" Henderson barked as he straightened himself. He was mad that his daughter was upset because of this lady, and it made him despise Lena even more.
"Just to make it clear, I would prefer to remain jobless than ever work for you!" Lena snapped picking up her purse which was on the couch before raving out of the house.
"Zel," Henderson called out going after Itzel who ran upstairs the moment Lena left
"Sunshine, open the door," Henderson persuaded as his hands tapped softly on the door to Itzel's room.
"Go away Daddy, I want Lena," Itzel yelled from inside.
"Fine, open the door and I promise Lena would be your Nanny."
Henderson had barely finished his statement when the door creaked open revealing Itzel. Despite the tears that were on her face, her lips curved into a smile.
He was marvelling what spell Lena had cast on his daughter that made her like her so much.
Itzel never got along with any of her nannies except Cleo who was Itzel's Nanny for five years but she had to resign a year ago when she got married.
Ever since it became really difficult to find anyone else Itzel liked. If his daughter had become fond of someone who wasn't Lena he wouldn't have waited for a second to employ her but now that it was that Lena he was pissed.
"Daddy, call her," Itzel grip on his hand jolted him out of his thoughts.
"I only said that to make you open the door," Henderson uttered.
Itzel's face turned sour and she let go of Henderson's hand.
"Sunshine, I promise I'll get you a better Nanny," he assured but Itzel shook her head crossing her hands over her chest.
Later that day...
"I got you Ice Cream," Henderson beamed placing the package on the bed.
Itzel didn't even look up when he walked into the room and even after telling her he got ice cream her reaction didn't change.
Henderson knew it meant she was really upset, Ice cream was the thing Itzel couldn't resist.
"Ice Cream isn't going to make me change my mind," Itzel finally lifted her head to gaze at her Dad.
An enunciated sigh left his lips and he sat beside Itzel.
"Even if I wanted to make Lena your Nanny you heard what she said. She said she doesn't want to work here.." Henderson mumbled coming up with an excuse.
"Well, that is because you said bad things to her. Just apologize I'm sure Lena is going to forgive you, she is a nice person."
Henderson's eyes crinkled, his daughter was praising that lady and putting all blame on him. He had to come up with another excuse and he just found the perfect one.
"She didn't leave her contact." He mumbled.
Itzel got up from the bed and walked to the drawer in her room. Shortly she returns and stands in front of her father extending a file to him.
His brows puckered in confusion as he took the file from her wondering what it contained.
"Lena's mail and phone number are in there. She left them here yesterday," Itzel flashed her father who was dumfounded a smile.
She knew the games her father was playing and she understood how well to win them.
Henderson realized he had underestimated his daughter thinking she was just a kid, he forgot she wasn't just any kid but a smart one. She was his daughter after all. Now there was no way out, he had to give in to his daughter's demand.
He was willing to put his hatred for that Lena for the sake of his daughter, that was how much he loved her.
