"It's time for war in Uranus," Matteo beamed turning on the Tv before taking his sit beside Lena.
He had been trying everything possible to lighten up Lena's mood ever since they came to his house but none of it worked. She just kept staring into empty space with no expression on her face and even worse she was yet to say a word.
So he decided to turn on the tv so they could watch wars in Uranus, it was Lena's favourite tv series. She wasn't a romance lover, she hated the genre with passion. To her romance movies were just crazy exaggerations of lies and episodes of things that will never happen.
She loved the sci-fi genre. To her, it was better watching something that was pure fiction and had no chance of happening in real life than sitting around watching two people tell themselves lies about how much they love each other.
"Aren't you going to watch?" Matteo frowned turning to Lena.
"Have fun watching, I'm not interested," she said dryly.
Matteo sighed, he felt she was so sad. Otherwise, the Lena he knew was never going to miss an episode of wars in Uranus for anything in the world.
"Really, for how long are you going to be like this?" He arched his brows.
"Like how?" She asked shifting her gaze to him.
She wasn't happy, when her mom threatened to throw them out earlier she thought that it was just one of her numerous treats, but turns out she meant every word she said.
Lena, Trent and Matteo tried to plead with her mom to let them in, but she didn't open the door. She just yelled at them from inside to leave saying she was tired of them being burdens on her.
Lena wanted to cry, but surprisingly no tears came out maybe it was because her son was crying so much and she had to be strong for him.
Matteo offered them to come stay at his place, and this time she couldn't say no because she had nowhere else to go.
A pronounced sigh left Matteo's lips, "I know you are saddened by what your mom did, but you don't have to be like this. If you are acting this way what do you want Trent to do?"
Lena heaved a breath giving Matteo's words a thought. She didn't have to be this moody because her mom kicked her out. She had to move on with her life so she could take care of her son, that was what she ought to be thinking of.
After all, Trent was her priority nothing else. All she had to do was get a job, so she could raise some money to enrol Trent in school and then get her own apartment she didn't want to end up being a burden to Matteo.
"Thank you, Matteo. Thank you for letting me stay here," a small smile marred her face.
"I'm honoured, it's a pleasure having the queen and her prince at my place. You both can stay here for as long as you want." Matteo told her with a smile that reached his eyes.
"So are we watching the series or not?" Matteo arched his brows at her.
"Of course, we are," she chuckled fixing her eyes on the Tv

"Oh my! I'm so full," Lena exclaimed keeping the plate which contained the rest of the meal she was unable to finish on the table
"Well, I'm not I can help you finish yours," Matteo smiled reaching for Lena's plate and she chuckled shaking her head.
She couldn't understand how someone could eat so much and still want more. Matteo had just finished his third plate but that didn't seem enough for him.
"You are such a foodie."
Matteo nodded, "I know and that's also because you are a great cook. I haven't had such a delicious meal in days."
Lena smiled, this wasn't the first time Matteo complimented her cooking. He loved to eat her food, whenever she cooked and he was around she made sure she packed extra for him.
"Your boss? I'm not interested," Lena stated firmly.
Matteo just told her that his boss was looking for a Nanny for his daughter since he thought she would be interested in applying.
"Why? Does this has to do with the fact that he is a CEO or do you have other reasons?" Matteo questioned, his brows slightly furrowed.
He couldn't comprehend why Lena didn't even let him finish giving her details of the job before saying she wasn't interested.
"I'm glad you know it's because he is a CEO and that's not all. Remember all the things you told me about that boss of yours, how he is a flirt? Pompous, a jerk.." Lena would have continued to call Matteo's boss names if Matteo didn't chirp in.
"Lena, I'm pretty sure if my boss hears you say that I told you all these awful things about him, it won't take a minute before I become jobless," Matteo's lips curled up.
Lena sighed, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean that. All I'm trying to say is that from all you've told me about your boss, it's not going to be easy working for him."
"I know, but he isn't all that bad. Moroever you aren't going to be working directly with him, but his daughter. The pay is two hundred and fifty thousand dollars per month."
By the time Matteo was done talking, Lena's jaw was agape. That amount could change her life. But she was surprised that the man in question was willing to pay such a huge sum for a Nanny and that too per month, it raised a lot of questions in her mind.
"That's huge," she sputtered.
Matteo nodded in agreement, "It is but considering how much work his daughter is, it's really nothing. Just this month he has employed ten Nannies, some he fired, and others quit on their own. They couldn't deal with the girl's attitude anymore."
Lena's eyes went wide, she knew there had to be a reason why the pay for the job was that huge.
Matteo noticed her expression and he knew she might not be willing to apply after hearing that so he said.
"You don't have to let that bother you, you are great with kids. You have a child, it's one of the requirements."
Next day....
Lena was awestruck by the beauty of the mansion, she had never seen a house as beautiful as this.
Matteo dropped her off at the mansion. Before he left, he offered to come in with her so he could put in a word for her to his boss, but she declined saying he had already done her a huge favour by telling her about the job.
She took in the sight of the mansion, Each corner of the wall was gorgeously etched, and the designs were terrific. With the combination of emerald green and spotless white paint, it was looking like a palace from a fairyland, flowers around the mansion added more glamour to it. They were several golden decors on the wall.
"Hello, can I help you?" A woman who was dressed in a black gown with white capes questioned. She snapped her fingers in front of Lena's face when she didn't respond and that brought Lena out of her daydreaming.
Lena came to the conclusion that the woman in question was a worker in the house when she looked to her side and saw other ladies dressed in the same uniform.
"Uhm, my name is Lena Cohen. I'm here for the job of a Nanny," she introduced
"Come with me," the woman beckoned.
Lena nodded and began to trail after the woman while she took the lead.
"Take your seat, Mr Henderson will join you soon," the woman said with a small smile before ambling away.
Lena's eyes darted around the room, the interior was even more beautiful than the outside. The golden chandelier hung on the ceiling, and the bright coloured lights, made the greyish colour paint stand out. The couches were no exceptions of luxury, Lena concluded they must have caused a fortune seeing how they sparkled.
Thinking about it Matteo's boss must be a really wealthy man, no wonder the pay for the job was high.
"I guess you are here to be my Nanny not stare around like an outcast," a voice aired in the room as a girl walked in. This made Lena turn in the direction of the voice to see who it was.
The girl had long black hair that was packed in a ponytail, sparkling hazel eyes that were almond-shaped a small nose that fitted her oval-shaped face perfectly and pinkish lips. She had a Minnie Mouse t-shirt on and a denim pinafore over it. On her feet were a pair of pink flip-flops.
Lena was on her feet by the time the girl was standing in front of her.
"Hi, I'm Lena." Lena smiled stretching her hand to the little girl.
"The name is Itzel. Sorry, I don't shake strangers," Itzel muttered nonchalantly this made Lena chuckle and then she withdrew her hand.
"You can sit..." Itzel mumbled tapping on the couch.
"You are beautiful," Lena complimented sitting beside Itzel whose eyes didn't leave Lena's face even for a second.
"I know, you don't have to state the obvious," Itzel crinkled her nose and smoothened her hair.
Lena was taken aback by the attitude of a girl this age, but she smiled to herself, she had seen even worst.
"What makes you think you are fit for this job?" Itzel asked suddenly.
Lena was tempted to ask Itzel if she was going to be the one who interviews her but she just shrugged it off.
"Well, I love kids and..."
"Same crappy lies," Itzel frowned shaking her head.
"Isn't that what you all say? But in less than a day, you guys get tired of me?" Itzel continued.
Lena watched as the girl spoke, she could see what Matteo had said about the girl but it just really amused her.
"I think you are a smart kid," Lena chortled.
"I like you," Lena added.
Itzel's brows creased, she expected Lena to have become furious by now.
She did this to every single person who had come to apply to be her Nanny. So far they ended up flaring up, but if they were able to pretend it didn't last for a day because she would keep getting on their nerves until they quit and if that didn't work she got her dad to fire them.
Itzel didn't know why but she felt drawn to Lena and when Lena smiled at her she felt different.
Itzel didn't say a word to Lena again she just kept staring at Lena who wondered if she had said something wrong.
"Daddy!" A wide smile crept across Itzel's face as Henderson Bain stepped into the room.
Henderson had similar features to that of Itzel except for his eyes he had sea blue eyes that shone like lodestars.
Lena stood up, her face turned as pale as a ghost when she saw the man. Fury bubbled deep in Lena, this was the man she had an encounter with at the bar, that was two days ago.
"You!" She gasped.
Rigid cords formed in his neck and his eyes narrowed at the sight of Lena.
"What are you doing here!" He fumed.
"Daddy, do you know her?" Itzel asked looking up at her father whose jaw clenched.
