Friday, Night
Another day for me and my team to hunt down those Reapers, and it seems to us they getting more and more as the day goes by. As if, someone is trying to mess up the innocence life of the humans living here in the Apple City.
“Another tough day.” I heard Rafa said next to me.
Rafa Nox my best friend and a hunter too, same as me, he is our leader in our team. While, I’m, Chisuke Aviaq, is his right hand although most of the time, I move on my own. I am more of observant rather than to engage to a battle without looking at it if I’ll win or not. And today is the same... not until something happens.
“At your nine o’clock.” We both heard Euna speaks which we both look at.
Euna Freyja Rafa’s fiancé and a hunter too, our third member, she’s quiet aloof and snobbish to the other team but when it comes to us. She will gladly hang up and will just silently play with when we were a child that made her our last member.
“A human…” Rafa said.
Is she an idiot? Doesn’t she know that, that place nestle in there? Or she just wants to be there food.
“She’ll be the next target.” Rafa commented and we all see the large horde lurking around the dark street of the District Five. They already surround the lady who’s walking without fear, and anytime they are ready to attack and devour her blood.
At the back alley
I am so, so scared and my heart almost jumps out of my chest while all my blood draws out of my body. My face was too pale though the dark sky above me looks bright because of the stars that shown above.
How wonderful it can be if only I’m looking at it… normally?
“Hey!” I heard this rough and tough voice called out my attention. “How long are you going to stare at the night sky as if you aren’t in danger?” he asked irritably and that the time I realize, he was my savior.
I slowly look at him and when I see his eyes, I got more scared. The color of his eyes is crimson red and those who have it are the well-known Vampires in our city.
“Oh, God!” I couldn’t help not to say.
“You weaklings!” he exclaimed. “I am no God!”
“I… I know…” I said even though I’m trembling in fear.
“Of all places, you’ve choose to come here. Are you that eager to die!” he madly stated, yet I couldn’t understand what he was saying because all I know, I’m beginning to lose my senses and slowly darkness envelop me.
Meanwhile…
“Suk!” I heard Rafa calling me, in my nickname short for Chisuke, over my earphone.
“What?”
“The Reapers are after you.”
“I know!” I said as I look back and a large horde of Reapers were coming right us.
“She might get some cuts, the reason why you’ve been followed.” Euna answered.
A cut? I look for a safety place to put her down.
“I’ll—I was about to say something when we all heard another voice screaming near to Rafa and Euna and we all knew that there’s another victim around them and they cannot help me on this matter.
“Another idiot.” I heard Euna commented and I couldn’t agree more.
“Alright,” it was Rafa. “It seems your all on your own.”
It is yet I look at the lady who’s on my arms that was already passed out, she’s my only problem. I cannot fight back with a luggage like this and it frustrate me.
“I like to work alone but it seems it will be harder for me since…” I paused and take a deep breath and finally see a safe place.
“Suk?” Rafa called out.
“I’ll be fine. I can handle this!” I said and cut off our connections. I hurriedly went down at the safe place that I found and I finally put down the lady on the ground. I quickly search her body if she gets some cuts and it hits me. I can smell it, the freshly blood coming out from her cut and it made me feel thirsty as it touches my nose. Her scents is kind of mystic, which I hardly to describe and it was the reason why those reapers couldn’t take off without consuming her blood no matter what it takes.
“Uhm…” she finally moves and slowly her eyes start to open. “Where am--” she pauses when she stares through my eyes and I already knew why she’s scared.
“Hey! Will you take off that fear out of me!” I scolded her.
“B-but…”
“Wha…” I felt that a Reaper suddenly comes in with force. I quickly hold her and dodge the Reaper.
“Ahhh!”
Shit! She’s loud. I wanted to tell her but the Reaper was too eager to come at us.
Another attack but this time I used my Oak Sword and slice it through.
“And hey! Will you please shut up!” I intently said to her.
“B-but…”
“What? Is that the only word you can say?” I irritably asked as the Reapers comes rushing in and I quickly let her stand at my back. “Just stay there and don’t do anything stupid.”
At the other side of District Five
“Will Suk be alright?” I heard Euna worriedly asked while their hunting the other Reapers who escape from them.
“He will.” I answered. “Besides, he is more of a soloist rather than to work with a team.”
“Yeah, I know although right now it is different, he was carrying a human with him. And I doubt if he will fight all out.”
I smile. “You still don’t know him.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, he is Chisuke Aviaq, no one can beat him that easily even if he needs to protect someone by his side.” I seriously stated.
