Chapter 3

The wrong room?

For a moment, I was unable to move. I continued to lie on the wall listening to Vanessa and my mother's conversation.

"I'm really pissed off! I managed to get Carter to go to the bar with me, tricked him into drinking the aphrodisiac I gave him, and I even called the press so they could take pictures of me and Carter sleeping together to get that his grandfather to agree to our wedding! Then I ended up in a wrong room and have sex with a disgusting man!"

Vanessa's voice was very vicious as she gritted her teeth and said, "And the worst of all was letting that bitch sleep with Carter and making her Mrs. Louis!"

Hearing what they said, my heart trembled violently. I suddenly found this man very pathetic.

Carter liked Vanessa so much, but Vanessa kept setting him up . she betrayed Carter and slept with another man.

Did she not know that drugs would harm Carter's body?

So, this is the innocent and beautiful woman in everyone’s eyes.

This is the love of Carter's life.

Although this woman is my sister, I don’t know her.

"You're also stupid. How could you enter the wrong room!" Mother couldn't help but criticize Vanessa, "If you went to the right room, you would be Mrs. Louis by now!"

"I drank the aphrodisiac too. I guessed I was a little messed-up," Vanessa's tone became impatient, "What should we do next? I can't stand that bitch anymore!

Vanessa seemed even angrier, "she has nothing to compare with me. If it wasn't for the fact that her bone marrow was a match for me, she would never have been able to enter our house. Do you know that every time I call her sister, I want to vomit!"

I was frozen in place.

It turned out that the Taylor family would adopt me, not out of the goodness of their hearts, but because Vanessa needed my bone marrow.

I was not Vanessa's sister. I was just a bone marrow bank.

Mother let out a laugh, "It's very simply. Carter likes you. You can just say you want to marry him, or else you will kill yourself. I’m sure he will consent to what you ask."

"I killed myself this time to make Carter angry enough to divorce that bitch right away, but before I had a chance to goad him, he suddenly had to leave for some emergency meeting." Vanessa sighed heavily, "How about I drug Carter again? If I get pregnant with his child, I will be able to marry into the Louis family."

When I heard that Vanessa was going to drug Carter, I was furious. I went straight out and yelled, "How can you do this? How could you set him up and drug him? Don't you think you're being hypocritical!"

Vanessa and my mother were startled by my sudden appearance. they looked sheepishly to see if there was anyone else behind me.

When she found that I was the only one here, my mother stood up and gave me a heavy push on the head.

"After stealing your sister's fiancé, now you're eavesdropping on us! Don’t you have any morals?"

I pushed her hand away and chided, "Is it moral for you to cheat on Carter? You know I didn't drug Carter, so why are you blaming me? You know you did it! Why are you pretending to be innocent in front of Carter?"

When I thought of Carter's indifference in the past three months, I was so aggrieved that I wanted to cry.

It was obvious that I did not do anything wrong. I was wronged.

Seeing that the truth had been revealed, Vanessa and her mother didn't pretend anymore.

"So what if we lied to Carter?" Vanessa said to me with her chin raised proudly, "Even if I lied to him a hundred times, Carter would still believe me and love me. Even if you slept with him and married him, so what? He still treats you like dirt.."

"Exactly!" Mother glared at me in disgust, "If it weren't for you, Vanny would have been Mrs. Louis long ago! You shameless bitch! Don’t blame us, blame yourself."

The more she said, the angrier she got. She came up and tried to slap me.

"If we hadn't adopted you, you would have been dead on the street! You're such a ungrateful bitch!"

I backed up in a hurry, and hit the corner. I paused.

My mother slapped me hard across the face once more.

"This is just a warning to you." Vanessa looked at me disdainfully, "You could have told Carter what you heard today. Let’s see who he will believe."

I was shaking with anger, and I was speechless.

Indeed, no matter what I said, Carter wouldn't believe me.

Vanessa saw me staring at her. She was so angry that she slammed her water glass at me.

"Get out of here! Every time I see your face, I just want to throw up! Don't think you're going to be Carter's wife forever, because Carter loves me! He loves me!"

The broken glass shards stabbed into my skin. I immediately cringed in pain.

I said to Vanessa, "We both know you're the liar! As long as I’m here, you'll never be Carter's wife!"

Hearing my words, Vanessa's proud expression disappeared. She glared at me viciously, not at all like the gentle and kind Vanessa before.

At this point, I was no longer afraid of her. I looked her straight in the eye, and said.

"Now, it’s time to take off your mask, Vanessa."

Vanessa laughed coldly, "You know my secret, so what? I could tell you my plan. Do you think Carter will believe a word you say? He will only believe me!"

She suddenly thought of something and revealed a treacherous smile.

"Guess what, if I call Carter later and say that you deliberately came here to get me in trouble, and that you are here to provoke me, he will divorce you immediately."

My face went white as Vanessa laughed again, "You'd better agree to divorce Carter, or you will be sorry."

I clenched my fist. Even if I was scared again, I wouldn't change my mind, "No matter what you say, I don’t care. Now I am Mrs. Louis!"

After that, I turned around and left, with Vanessa behind me shouting, "How long do you think you can be Mrs. Louis? Just wait until you receive the divorce papers! Maybe you'll have a surprise when you get home!"
