"Hey!" Said Aliya, walking out the kitchen, holding two large box of pizza.
"Where did you get that from?" I asked, surprised, "I tried to order, but I wasn't able to."
"Yeah. There are no signals here." Aliya replied, checking her phone.
“I bought it when we were at the gas station."
"When!? I don’t remember.” I asked.
"You were in the restroom." She replied.
"Oh. Clever."I said, taking a seat beside Ayesha on the sofa.
"Shhh. The movie is about to start." Said Ayesha, sitting up straight.
The movie was going quite well, not my favorite cuz it was a children’s movie. And I don’t like children movies.
My eyes were starting to get dry, by looking at the t.v. And I could barely
stop myself from yawning after every minute.
I turn to look at Aliya. She was busy on her phone.
Finally, Ayesha was fast asleep at the end of the movie. Aliya was already
gone. I carry Ayesha to her room upstairs, silently placed her on the bed and
gently pulled the quilt over her.
I walk downstairs, to the kitchen to wash some dishes.
As I rinse the last plate in the sink, and place it on the dish rack, I glance up at the wall clock. It was 12:05.
I wipe the table, wash my hands and leave upstairs, switching off all the lights on my way.
"Aliya!"
I call, as I walk upstairs
She didn't answer me. She must be asleep now.
I flip the light button off for the last time. As I look up, I find myself standing at the starting of the narrow, dark hallway.
I glance downstairs from the hall, it was so dark and quite that
goosebumps rushed through my arms.
The most odd thing about this place, was that there were no signals at this
place.
“What if it's. . . . No, no its not.” I shove the thought out of my mind.
As I walk through the hall, I stop by Ayesha's room, to make sure she was
asleep. I gently open the door and peek inside. And find her in deep, peaceful
sleep.
I gently close the door. As I continue walking, I see flickering light
peeking from beneath one of the closed door.
As I walked closer, it seemed like candle light.
I open the door slightly, and peek through the gap. And find Aliya in the room, sitting on the sofa, in front of the glass table with lights off, and lit candles scattered all over the room.
She seemed to be sliding her index finger over a thin cardboard on the
table.
I slowly walk inside the room, to have a closer look.
I gasp under my breath as I look over the table, the thin cardboard appeared to be an 'ouja' board.
"Aliya!! What on earth are you doing?" I said, in a high tone.
"Shhh" She said, keeping me quiet.
"What on earth are you doing?" I turned my tone into a whisper.
She gets up from the sofa, walks up to the door behind me and closed it.
"Here, have a seat." She said, gesturing to the single couch, beside the sofa.
"I am not here to sit Aliya! Explain me, will you?” I said taking a place on
the couch.
“What the hell are you doing with that ouja board? Why IS IT HERE! And where
did you get it from?”
Before Aliya could speak, I start to speak again “You asshole, little BRAT! How dare you get this thing at HOME. I already warned you Aliya, NO TROUBLE! Then what is this doing over here?" I finally finish yelling under my breath.
"Done?" She asked.
"Yeah" I said taking a deep breath.
"Chill Sarah! It's just a little. . . experiment.” Said Aliya, “I swear I'm
just testing it. As soon as I’m done, I'll return it back from where I got it
from. Okay!?”
"Where did you get it from?" I asked.
"Oh, it's when we got here. Remember? The first day, after lunch, I explored
the whole house." She said, getting proud of herself.
"Please. Stop. Don't do it. Don't do anything, that you'll regret." I tried to warn her but she wouldn’t listen.
"Relax Sarah, nothing will happen.” Said Aliya giving an assuring look. “Here, place your finger on the planchette." She said, placing her index finger on the planchette.
"Please no." I warned her for the last time.
"Nothing will happen, trust me." She pulled my finger, and placed it on the
planchette.
She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, opened her eyes and looked around the room.
"Are there any spirits in this room?” She said, letting out a big sigh.
Everything around us went silent. A weird feeling started to rush through my
chest.
“Are there any spirits in this room?” Aliya asked again. “If there are, then
show yourself. Move something.”
Silence falls again. We pause for a moment.
“Prove your presence!" Aliya said again.
We waited, but nothing happened.
"I allow all the spirits to enter our territory." Sighed Aliya. "I allow all
the spirits to enter our territory!" She raised her voice.
We waited for a while but still, nothing happened.
She turns to me, I glance back at her. We both share a look, waiting for a
response, but nothing happened. Nothing at all.
I look around the room and then back at her.
Her face turned out a little different.
I look carefully at her, and to my surprise, she wasn't looking at me, but
behind me.
I follow her glance and turn to look behind me, at the corner of the room.
It was too dark to see anything.
I turn back at her, and she was still looking behind me. Her face turning
pale and eyes wide open. I look behind me again, but it was still too dark to
adjust my eyes to that corner.
I turn back at Aliya, and find her, holding her hand in the air, pointing at the corner of the room.
I gasp and look back again, but still nothing.
I turn back to her and try to ask her, what she could see, but before I could say a word, she started screaming.
After a second, I also started screaming. We both screamed for a minute, but then Aliya's scream turned into a laugh.
I stop screaming, and stare at Aliya in confusion.
I waited for a minute, then she finally stopped laughing.
"Ohh." She said, wiping her tears off, taking a deep breath. "I thought someone was not scared of ghosts.” She looks up at me. “God! Sarah. You're such a
coward."
"You ASSHOLE! You think this is a joke.” I yelled at her as I realize that she was pulling a prank on me. “God! Aliya. I HATE YOU!"
I get up from the couch, grab her by her arm and pull her out of the room along with me.

But little did they know, what the fate had for them in future.
As soon as both the girls left the room for bed, the planchette on the ouija
board slowly moved up to the left corner. Which had a phrase written, ["Yes”]
