Chapter 2 He likes man?

Daniel kept a sarcastic curve on his lips, as if he hadn't heard Abby's explanation. Or maybe he didn't care about her explanation.

His eyes never stopped at Bella's table.

Abby panicked when she saw Daniel's half-smile. She's here today on a blind date with the noblest man in City A.

His family is not only rich, but also enjoys a great reputation. Regardless of his background, appearance and accomplishment, he is the best among men.

Abby was put aside by Daniel for a moment. Then she bit her lip and said in a weak voice, "Mr. Brook, rumors are in different minds. I believe you don't believe in those erroneous rumors."

Daniel finally took his eyes off Abby and smiled on her guilty face. "I'm sorry, Ms. Hill," he said. "I'm from a strict family. Maybe my family can’t accept a woman like you. Let's call it a day."

Abby tried to explain more, and once again, he delivered a sarcastic remark that succeeded in silencing her.

"It’s rumor or fact, Ms. Hill," he said, lifting his eyebrow bone, "you have a reputation in the male model world."

Abby turned pale and blue, but because of Daniel's identity, she was afraid to do anything.

At last, her face turned black. She stood up with a cold groan and walked away without looking back.

Daniel's handsome face didn't change. His even long legs were folded, and the whole body was relaxed against the chair behind him, exuded a lazy and luxurious temperament.

He just couldn't stop looking at Bella's table.

Mr. Yang left a long time before Bella realized something.

In her great anger she grabbed the boy by the ears and pulled him hard, shouting, "Teddy Cooper! You're trying to get yourself killed! How dare you take advantage of me?"

Teddy's handsome face crumpled with pain as he hugged Bella's arm and whispered, "Bella, it hurts... It hurts! We can talk about it but let go of me first!"

Bella gave him a hard pinch. She heard him let out a painful exhalation, then released her grip on his ear and looked at him coldly, wearing a face of 'I’ll kill you if you can’t explain it well’.

Teddy rubbed his red ears and murmured, "Bella, you're still the same and still so violent. No wonder you can't find a boyfriend..."

"Teddy, what are you talking about? Dare you to say it again!"

Teddy shut his mouth, put his hand down and said, "My sister is still at the show. I was having dinner with friends nearby and she called and asked me to help you."

When he finished, he lifted his eye, looked at Bella with the small eyes of bitterness, said: "But I didn’t know that you bite the hands that feeds you!"

Bella narrowed her eyes again. "You mean I misunderstood you?"

Teddy said, "No, no, no, I mean, I did you a favor, Bella, and you don't appreciate it!"

Bella ignored Teddy's accusations. She lifted a hand and ruthlessly knocked his head, "Then thank you for helping me, but how dare you kissed me?"

"Just a kiss on the cheek, which is what I do every day in America!"

Teddy defended himself disapprovingly, but Bella raised her hand and slapped him hard on the head. He said, "Ouch!" and clasped his head and looked at her angrily.

"Teddy, you're in China, not America, and you're still acting like American. You'll be called a lothario here."

"No way, I'm so handsome..."

Bella lifted her forehead, and her head was aching. She really didn't think she can communicate with teenagers these days.

For a moment she waved helplessly at Teddy. "Well, it's useless to talk to you. Where's your sister? When can she come by?"

"Sabina? She said she'd be there in half an hour or so and asked you to wait here."

Teddy is the brother of Bella's best friend Sabina Cooper. He just came back from America.

"Yes, I see. Thank you for helping me out today. Did you just say you are having dinner with friends nearby? Just leave."

Teddy smiled and gave Bella a look. She took out several hundred-dollar bills from her purse and handed them to him.

Teddy rushed forward laughing like a lackey, took the money and said sweetly, "Thank you, Bella, I love you, my beautiful, gentle and generous sister!"

Bella smiled. "Okay, no drinks!"

"Don't worry Bella, I'm not going for a drink, so I'll go."

Teddy was gone. Bella waited patiently for Sabina to arrive. Her delicate chin rested on her white hands, looking out the window with a bored look.

Henry Fox came back from the restroom break and stared for about a second as Daniel was left alone at the table.

With a smile on his face, he said, "Daniel! I don't mean it, but that's the fifth one! You've been on five blind dates this week! Five women went off in a rage! Why is it so hard for you to deal with women?"

Daniel looked ahead and answered lightly, "They left first. I had nothing to do with it."

"None of your business?" Henry looked incredulous and asked, "What did you say to Ms. Hill?"

If he hadn't said anything, would she have just left directly?

Daniel took his cup of coffee, sipped it, and casually replied, "I was just saying that my family was too strict for a woman of Ms. Hill's disposition."

Henry looked at Daniel, who was calm and collected. He opened his mouth. But he was so angry that he didn't know what to say!

For a long time, he said, "Daniel! You're not really going to marry these women! You don't need to care what she does! Just take one of them home!"

Daniel went out on the blind date because Daniel's grandfather was seriously ill. The doctor said he can’t live longer than six months. His only wish was to see his grandson, who was in his late 20s, settle down.

Daniel's parents, in order to complete the wishes of Daniel's grandfather, played all means, forcing him to go blind dating. They must make him get married with someone as soon as possible.

But Daniel is all perfect. He has good family, good looks and is highly-educated. The only thing he avoided is women.

And he and Henry were like peas and carrots, so it was widely rumored in City A that Daniel doesn't like women!
