CHAPTER THREE
Alpha Kayden Pov
As I walked towards the dinning room, i sense a strong intoxicating scent which filled my nostrils, almost making me go crazy.
My wolf woke up in attention, focusing on the only other heart that matched the rhythm of his heart.
Mate.
I move my gaze to the scent and then I saw her. She stood there, staring at me like the others. She was on a maid wears.
Even if it's been five years, I could still remember her.
She's Grace elder sister. An omega.
The realization took my breath away.
My mind was, at this point, blank.
Why will the moon goddess mate me with an omega.
I fought against the urges her scent was influencing as I walked passed her.
The urge to grab her and take her against the nearest tree. My wolf was going crazy about the idea, but he would learn fast that that was never going to happen.
I wouldn’t accept her.
Knowing that she's an omega. She's too weak to be made as my Luna.
I walked to the Dinning room and met Grace. She wasn't the little girl I knew back then.
She has grown more maturely and beautiful.
She was the only lady my heart beats for and I had promised to make her my Luna if I can't find my mate and now her sister my mate?
I can never accept it.
“This won’t happen,” I spat out.
She stood up and was about running to me when she bumped into someone……..
My mate!
I could see Grace furious look as her dress was ruin.
"I'm….s" I My mate didn't get to finish her words before Grace landed a slap on her cheeks.
She was still recovering from that when another landed on her left cheek. She staggered back and fell on her butt.
"Mate in trouble!" My wolf Kia said to me.
I wanted to ignore but I could feel the pains as well.
''Enough!"
I said when I got to them.
Grace furrowed her brows as she stared at me.
"Didn't you see what she did to me!?" Grace shouted back.
"One more word from you Grace and you won't like me" I said seriously.
"I'm your girlfriend and we’ll soon be getting engaged. Why the hell are you defending her!" She shouted and I shut my eyes.
I shouldn't be doing this. Grace is the only woman I want.
"Grace, that's enough!"
"No, it's not!" She fired back.
"Tell me why are you siding with her?"
"I'm not siding with nobody Grace she spilled it on you unintentionally now let it go…"
I said.
I roughed my hair and sighed.
The truth is, I hate to see her angry but I don't know why I'm defending her elder sister.
"I'm not yet done with you" She glared at my mate and walked out stomping her feet hard on the floor while going out.
I sighed again when Grace was gone and stretch forth my hand for her to take.
I could see her face turned red as she, slowly place her hand on my stretched palm and i pulled her up,
"I'm sorry" i muttered to her and walk out.
I searched for Grace and saw her standing alone.
I went to her and wrapped my arm around her waist.
"I'm sorry!" I uttered.
She turned to me and pushed me away.
"You fucking defended her Kayden. Tell me, don't you love me anymore?" She yelled and I shut my eyes.
Not again.
"Of course Grace. I watched you grow. I wanted for you to become an adult so I can make you my Luna. She's just an ordinary maid. You don't need to be upset. I love you and that's why I came back earlier enough. I'm sorry for yelling at you!" I said and she immediately hugged me.
"I'm sorry for yelling as well"
I sighed and stroke her hair. She's the woman I want and not anyone else. She's my chosen Luna.
Evening came faster than expected.
We all stood at the pack house field where the rituals will be taking place.
The fire has already been lightened and the priest began with the ritual since the full moon is out.
I could see the excited in all the omegas eyes but I was worried.
she's gonna find out I'm her mate.
I sat beside Grace, my dad, Alpha Meng Woods and my mom, Luna Gina and the council members.
Soon,l the ritual was over, the moon is now big as it is now in full display.
A ball light was lifted to the sky showing that the ritual is over.
My heart started racing. I could sense her. She was closed by.
Raising my head, I saw her.
She was staring at me and at that moment, I knew she was aware.
I stood up and walked up to her.
"Mate" she muttered, as I got to her.
I sighed. There was no need hiding it.
"So you knew I'm your mate and that’s why you helped me this morning but why didn’t you tell me” she said finally letting out my tears.
She looked at me and I could feel was pity.
"Why?...why did you not tell me. Do you realize how I’ve longed for you.?" She roared. I knew I have hurt her badly.
"I needed a strong Luna to rule the pack with me, not a weakling Omega," i said and added,
"I cannot have you as my mate"
My wolf growled and snarled inside me, demanding to know what I was doing. I pushed down the hurt that hit me when she didn’t fight me but only shed more tears.
There was no way someone like her could ever be my Luna.
‘Don’t do it" Kia yelled in my head.
I knew enough.
“Kim is my mate. Not you" I spoke back and face her.
"I, Kayden Woods, future Alpha of the White moon park, reject you, Kimberly Burgs, as my mate and Luna.”
Kia was snapping his teeth, pushing to take control to stop this.
“I, Kimberly Burgs, accept your rejection and relinquish my claim as your mate and Luna.”
My wolf howled in pain. A pain that was mirrored within me as it felt like my heart was being ripped apart. It was the bond breaking. Releasing me from the tie that bound us together.
She wipe her tears and walked out.
"She left.” my wolf growled.
I froze and my heart started beating painfully. She left.
There was so much pains in her eyes when she looked at me.
“Kia?’ I called my wolf. ‘Can you feel our mate’s wolf? Is she okay?’
‘No.’ He growled at me. ‘Her wolf is in pain. She retracted far back in mate’s mind. I can’t feel her.’

‘You are a complete fucker, Kayden.’ Kia growled.
‘Mate is perfect and strong. You will be sorry for what you did.’
I didn’t respond, and I pushed him to the back of my mind. I didn’t need that now. He is an animal. He reacts purely on instinct. And his instinct is to get his mate. I have to be the one to think rationally and think about our pack.
I turned and went back to my seat, returning to the woman the goddess should have made my mate. I returned to find my mother and her still deep in conversation. I was grateful she hadn’t seemed to notice my absence or the change in my mood.
