Chapter Four – Here to Stay.

Henry’s POV

Jade Smith, the only human I knew that fought a werewolf. She was usually called an old goat in a human body. She was that stubborn.

Sitting there, she had an unusual shine to her. I felt only I observed it. My wolf reminded me of the strange scent so I unwillingly looked away from her, before she caught me.

Clayton walked towards me and I felt him in my mind link. “Is it me or is there someone new here? Scott said he felt nothing”.

How could he? When he was buried inside a girl. I could hear her moans from where I was. I confirmed Clayton's suspicions and ask that we looked around.

“Henry! Heyyy!” my sister, Megan, ran to my arms drunk. Why wasn’t I surprised to see her here? Her mate, Luke, was asleep on a couch.

They were very deserving of each other. She was a drug addict and he was an alcoholic who owned this bar. Very deserving.

Clayton pulled her away from me as my eyes tarried on Jade again. We locked eyes and she winked. She usually did that to me.

I rolled my eyes and dragged Megan's bottle of alcohol, “Have some dignity, daughter of Alpha Jax!” I barked at her.

She was on her way to becoming an alcoholic. No matter how she wanted to her own life or felt she owned it, she couldn’t keep jeopardizing my father’s reputation with it, and soon mine as her Alpha.

She wasn’t living with her mate so was still under her father’s principles which included no drinking

I grabbed her jaw and tossed her back as she attempted hugging me again.

She fell like a sack on her mate who strangely got up and began making out with her. Clayton laughed at them. Was he used to this?

Alcohol did really bad things to Werewolves, especially once mixed with wolfs bane, but our pack never listened.

Wanting to try new things. We are strong enough to withstand the poison but not it’s intoxication.

The scent hit me again and Clayton and I looked away from Megan to the door at the same time. Who ever it was had walked into the bar.

I felt a hand of my waist and swirled backwards. It was my Delta, Scott, with a smug smile. He had hickeys on him and reeked of alcohol as well. “Hey babe, guess who just came for my birthday?”.

My eyes caught sight of who Scott was talking of, immediately. Oh yes, that’s why my wolf would be tensed. And how could I have forgotten his scent so soon.

Standing there was none other than Devon Mark, a werewolf hunter who hated me deeply, he already had his arm wrapped around a girl.

I calmed my wolf. He couldn’t make a scene till Devon made a move. I threw Scott’s hands off my waists.

He was always bringing in trouble into my pack. This man wasn’t supposed to be around my territory.

“Scott, you invited Devon to your party? He is a werewolf hunter!” Clayton screamed. Scott shrugged, looking blank faced, “He was”.

I growled at him, making him look down. The boy was reckless. He hadn’t grown up with us so didn’t know how history with hunters really well.

He lived with his father at Europe, and only moved here at America few years ago, after his mother died.

The Werewolf Hunters swore to bury the hatchet and live in peace. But everyone knew it was a lie, a deceit, and stayed far from them.

I sent a mind link to all my pack members at the bar that hunters were around, their safety were paramount.

They all stopped their dancing and turned towards him, having a defensive post, their claws growing from the hands. Some wolves surrounded me.

The humans at the bar were surprised by the reaction but it wasn’t very uncommon for those who knew they shared territories with a Pack.

“Hey, Scott, birthday boy. Look what I got you” Devon walked toward us, two hunters stayed at the door waiting for him, two followed him.

He avoided my gaze, totally ignoring me. I mind linked the wolves to be calm till he made a move. He handed a clothed package to Scott and attempted hugging him.

I shoved his hands off Scott and threw the package to the ground. Scott glared at me but I glared back and he looked away.

Our eyes widened when we checked what was in the package as it fell, a rifle gun!

“Keep your filthy murderous hands away from my Delta from now on!” I barked at Devon. His boys advanced to me but my pack growled at them.

The atmosphere became tense. He dared bring a hunter’s gun in here? To gift a wolf? He was really daring! I looked him in those his cold blue eyes of his?

If he hated living he should make a first move! I actually wanted him to.

I didn’t bother about the humans, they should be used to this by now.

“Henry, I came here on invitation by your Delta. Can’t you at least honor his guest? Or he isn’t worthy of your respect” Devon mocked.

Clayton blanked off and I knew he was communicating with Scott. Scott picked up the rifle and handed it back to Devon.

“Thanks. But I only invited you to lessen the tension between our families but it seemed I worsened it” he apologized, he need not. He should throw that gun at the fool’s face.

Devon narrowed his blue eyes at him while one of his boys snatched back the rifle. “Well, we’d meet again since I'm here to stay”.

I felt my wolf itching to shift and pounce on him. Here to stay? Where? Around my territory?

He lived at his dark alley few buildings away from us. If any of my pack members go missing, I'd surely shred him.

He gave a taunting smirk and I reciprocated with a growl. The whole pack, emitted a threatening aura so he was forced to leave.

As he left, the humans tried making the place lively again and continued dancing but my pack seemed cold.

I commanded the younger ones to return to the pack immediately. From the corner of my eyes I noticed Jade staring at me.

I hesitated to meet her gaze but when I did, she adverted her eyes. With my wolf hearing, I heard her curse at me, why?

It shouldn’t affect me, I watched the younger wolves leave. I felt offended with everything and stomped out of the club.

“Babe, I’m sorry I shouldn’t have invited him” Scott was in my mind link. I shut him off and took my horse for a walk towards a lake.

The fact a hunter was around my vicinity would only made me run more nuts. And with my cousin coming for my pack, I’d be psycho.
