Ciara’s POV
Alpha Alexio rose up, so speechless. His lips hung wide open.
“How can you ask for half of my money? Are you insane?” He barked, trying to instill fear, but I was way over that now.
“If you keep arguing, it means you want us to settle outside of here, before the pack elders.” I stiffened my face, he dared to frighten me but I stood my ground.
“You either pay me the money here or we leave for their council now!”
Camilla sprung up. “You can’t take his money. Besides, you’re the one leaving, not him chasing you out.” She said to me. “Wonder which pack you're even going to without a transfer document.” She smirked, crossing her arms over her chest.
I chuckled.
She isn't aware of what I'm doing. Trying to kill two birds with a stone and already won with the first.
“I am leaving because he has chosen another mate!” I replied to her.
“Well, there’s no proof. We haven’t made it official yet. I can just lie that we aren’t together and you will go with nothing.” Alexio said, looking bright, like he finally had something against me. Little did he know that I was three steps in front.”
I took out my phone and played the video of them kissing by the pool side before them. Camilla was as naked as she was, while Alexio’s fingers ran through her.
They widened their eyes in shock.
“How could you?” Alexio balled his fist, wanting to punch on me but I dodged. “How could you invade our privacy?”
“Well, as a married man, there’s no privacy. You’re guilty.” I told him.
“You have no right to check out my private moments whatsoever.”
“No, I didn’t. The camera in your office and have you forgotten, a few days ago the rogue attacked and killed my son?”
“All the cameras in this pack house have been checked and then I’ve gotten what I needed, same day as when the invasion occurred, your nudes leaked.”
“Why wouldn’t I keep it?”
This tormented Alpha Alexio so much, he couldn’t know what to say in response, all their resolve was gone and his new Luna, Camilla was confused as well.
“You bitch!”
He snatched the phone at one and flinged it off, causing it to shatter. “Now let’s see where you’ll get your proof from.” He said.
I looked at the phone, which had gone in pieces all over the floor and turned back to them. “You really think I’m dumb right?” I asked him.
“If you noticed, that was a new phone, containing only that video. I must tell you that I have that and many more pieces of evidence with me and will take them to the council if you don’t oblige.” I said to them with my confidence as much as it had never been.
They began to fumble. If Alpha Alexio could, he would kill me on the spot. Then again, that was why I chose there. It was open enough and people would see him if he tried anything funny.
“We shouldn’t let her take this matter to the council,” she leant and whispered into his ear in a way that was too light for me to hear, but I managed to stretch my listening powers to hear the things that mattered.
“The only thing we should do is waylay her and get her killed.”
“Urrghhh–”
A slight gasp pulled from my lips. I froze, my blood turned cold. Even though I had to pretend I didn’t hear a thing.
Alexio cleared his throat, raising his eyes on me. “Don’t worry, I’ll pay you.” His face was bright, his eyes flickering. He was thinking of something.
Immediately I left the rooftop, I called on my most trusted maid and she came into my room with me. I’d left the house for Alexio and Camilla since he had paid me the thirty million dollars. With this, he wouldn't be able to hand over such a huge sum, the only amount left of his net worth to Camilla.
“Now Nancy, I trust you so much,” I began. “I’m about to leave this pack, can you come with me?” Before this, I’d already sent a letter of visitation to Beverly Pack. This is one of the most welcoming packs, its Alpha was my college crush, he still disturbed me but I haven’t paid any attention to him since I was with Alexio. Back then he was Alexio’s best friend and still his best friend.
What could be worse than moving in with his best friend who always wanted me?
Now I was free to be with anyone I wish but I wasn’t going to pack in with him, rather to start a new life in a pack the Alpha would protect me in case either Alexio or Camilla come for me.
I knew what I was doing.
“I’ll go with you ma’am, for some time now, I know the Alpha hasn’t been treating you well. I’ve thought of telling you to leave him but I was so afraid, I thought you would think ill of me.” She confessed.
“I understand, I thank you.” I replied to her.
“Let’s pack our things.” I told her. “Discreetly, don’t let anyone know.”
When we were done, we used the private exit of the pack house, going through the tunnel. We were aided by Henry. He was a security agent at the pack and a friend to me too.
We initially wanted to use the regular way out, but he informed us that rogues had been stationed to kidnap and kill me if I did. Using the tunnel was uncomfortable because most things were dumped there, but safety was a priority and I was ready to look past all other things.
My mind told me that Alexio was going to execute what Camilla whispered into his ear and keeping the rogues on the road was a confirmation.
It didn’t matter anymore, not now that I was ready to climb the plane, taking my flight to Beverly Pack. A new life awaits me.
Just when I was about to board the plane, my phone rang and I picked it up. It was Alexio.
“Hello?” I said in a deep growl, sighing.
“Please can you come back, I’ll give you everything you want.”
“Why?” I scoffed. Even though I wasn’t gonna go, I wanted to know what became of him.
“Because this Beta has shown her true nature.” He responded. “She wanted me badly and my money but now I can't give her another thirty million dollars, she has threatened to leave me and is quite serious.”
“I need you back…”
So lame.
I didn’t let him finish when I ended the call and blocked my mind from him. Just before turning my phone off, I realised all the videos of himself and Camilla for the world to see. The one he talked about killing my son and the one which they made out naked.
They were about to have a ruined life, while I started mine anew.
