CHAPTER 3

Ciara’s POV

When I was about to leave, something brushed up my mind.

I’d participated in a monthly saving contribution organised by my friend, this month being the last month of the year was one I would be receiving my money.

I walked out of the room to the bathroom and placed a call on her quickly to check if I could get my money today.

“Hi Kate,” I called as the call timer popped up.

“Yes Luna,” she responded in her usual friendly voice. It was hurting to hear people call me Luna, even when I was leaving the Alpha.

“What’s up? Hope everything is fine.” I chuckled but the urge to go straight to the point erupted in my mind.

“Please I’ll love to get all my money, it’s an emergency and I should be traveling off the pack soon.”

“What? What’s wrong?” Kate’s voice sounded panicked but it wasn’t the time for explanation.

“Okay, if you agree to give me the money today, then I’ll explain.” I said with high hopes since she seemed too curious.

“Well,” her voice sounded gloomy. My hope is cut short. “The calculation has to be made and all amounts properly documented before money is paid out.”

“Everything will be messed up if I give out to only you. We have only a week, why can’t you stay a little?”

“Hmm,” I sighed.

“What’s the estimate of the money?”

“Three hundred thousand dollars.”

“Wait! How come?” Speechless was an understatement. I didn’t remember saving such an amount this year.

“Remember you kept last year’s savings with me, you didn’t get it.”

“Ohhhh!”

I trailed my hand over my hair, scattering it while my face brightened, my lips curled up in a radiant smile.

“With this money, I will surely establish myself in whichever pack I go to.” It then hit me like a cannonball, “I can’t establish a well-meaning business without being legally immigrated into a pack, and for this to happen, Alexio is gonna sign the transfer documents for me.” I said to myself.

Goshhh, I needed him.

Mere thoughts of this got my knees weakened and I sank to the sofa. “How will I go about this?” I thought to my wolf, begging for ideas. I never wanted to appear before him again after leaving.

Alpha Alexio had gone out with Camilla early in the morning at around 5 AM for a pack function as he claimed. He would be returning in the evening.

“I’ve prepared a special package for you, honey. Why don’t we sit and talk about our relationship, rather than playing tantrums around.” I messaged him. If I use a rude way, he wouldn't want to see me, so I decided to play some tricks.

“You know, Camilla, you can actually be his second wife, you just have to agree to what I will request.” I dropped a message too for her on WhatsApp, hoping she will respond soon.

“What’s that?” She replied a few minutes later.

“Let’s meet at the rooftop of the pack house for an important discussion.”

Evening came, the rooftop was set for a spectacular dinner. Though Alexio didn’t respond to my message, he was here.

We settled to eat and a few minutes later, Alpha Alexio spoke up. “Ciana, what’s it?”

“Why did you call us here?”

“Well,” I muttered keeping a meek, witty face while gliding my hand to the back and pulling out the document.

“What’s that?” His eyes narrowed. Camilla sat up, dropping the fork in her hand.

“Honey, what’s that?” She gestured to him. I tried as much as possible to fight the pain I was feeling when I saw them being romantic with each other. Alpha Alexio forbade me from calling him babe or honey or any other romantic name of choice. He said he wanted me to call him by his title as a sign of respect. Now, look who was calling him all sorts of sweet names, a privilege I never had.

This pain from the fact that they murdered my child was still heavily building up in me, but for this to work, I had to maintain a hundred percent composure. I went straight to business.

“So this is the pre-nuptial promise you made with me at our mating ceremony before my parents, that you will never take another woman, if ever you will, you will pay me any sum I demand.”

“It’s little, you know. I just want you to be happy with the woman you love.” I smirked, cocking my head.

“What do you mean?” The Alpha looked at me even more puzzled. I maintained my wittiness.

“If you could just pay me a million dollars which is written here with other expenses, you know, not much, then I’ll leave you so you can be with her.”

“Don’t worry, I have nothing to lose.” I said so simply.

I thought he would beg me or try to win me back, but he reached out and grabbed the document, scribbling his signature quickly into it.

So sad.

He didn’t say a word but this meant a whole lot.

I was even thinking he would deny being in an affair with Camilla, then I’d replay the video I got of them naked in the pool and the one she called him honey here.

“Since you no longer want to be with me, you have to pay me all the money mentioned there and so far it’s thirty million dollars, half of your net worth as the Alpha of this pack.”

“You can give me that card you gave her.” I muttered with a slow, low tone while keeping an innocent face.

“Huh?” Camilla raised her brows. I pretended not to notice her reaction.

“It’s either you pay me that part of your money as per our private agreement or we take this before the pack council and I have all your money.” I sprang up, holding a tight face. My mood changed. Now that I got my transfer documents signed, I was bold enough to take revenge without even looking back.

Alpha Alexio had never seen this stoned version of me before. Camilla too. She looked at me speechlessly. Deep down, she knew that the money I was aiming at was the one in the gold card, the one that Alexio gave to her. Nothing could hurt her more than that.
